clunking rearend
Check the top of the strut. The nut up there clunks when it isn't properly torqued.

Bob Sharp Racing
I found a couple pictures I took in the 1980's at Brainerd International Raceway that I will scan and post. Probably in the Vintage Race Pictures thread. Gene Crowe in one. I believe he passed in the 1990's and Paul Newman in another. As I was one of the track medical staff, I had full access to the pits and paddock area and was able to walk right up and shoot pictures. I believe Gene Crowe was BSR's crew chief and Paul was... Well you know.

Door window frame 240Z
Food for thought guys... Thanks... Door handle is installed so that isn't a problem In fact, that is why the window frame is out. I couldn't get my hands in there to reassemble with the window frame in place.

Door window frame 240Z
So if I understand you correctly, the pane must be released from the scissors mechanism and put in the frame, then the frame gets reinstalled and the window cinched back into the scissors?

Door window frame 240Z
I am having a perplexing problem. I pulled the window frame out of the driver door on my '73 to install something or other I don't recall now. I have been having trouble getting it back in place. I have tried a variety of window up, window half up etc... What's the secret? I have ruled out stealing the door of Bill Madamba's car and having the paint matched. He's too nice a guy and would notice the missing door if he ever did anything other than go to dog shows... :stupid:

Let's show vintage racing pictures. I'll start.
Here is a map of the original Watkins Glen Course. Just for giggles I embedded a YouTube video of a guy I know driving it in a rental car. He buries the needle at least three times. He is a decendent of Colin Chapman and has been a pro driver so 'don't try this at home - yada yada yada'

Bang
Also look under the hood. An impact from below can drive the strut up so the tower is bent inside the hood area.

Need instructions for Motorsport Auto Vinyl Kit
Kumusta ka Patrick? Mabutay? I don't think they come with instructions. It is pretty easy but kind of tedious and slow. You need to get some contact cement. Lots of it. Remove the existing interior and clean everything up as best you can. The transmission tunnel can be challenging because of the insulation and the contact not wanting to stick. Try to go cover a bit of the adjoining sections, as these may be exposed after all the trim is in and on. There are cardboard pieces that go over the shock towers. I put these on with some double face tape. Then really it is just about using the contact cement. You paint it on both surfaces and wait until it tacks up, then carefully put it in place and apply some down force to the surface to get the two surfaces to adhere to each other. I recently got a can of water based contact by accident. It is white instead of amberish. I was not pleased with it. You probably will not find the water based stuff as the PI isn't as regulated. If you need anything else, let me know. I can bring it in in a bulikbayan. We come over about every other year. My wife is from Lipa in Batangas. I taught at the University of Santa Tomas for a time...

WTB 1973 Bumper Rubber Parts
I would have to have a set to work with to know cost but, I don't seek profit in this. Mark and I are driving a business in Atlanta crazy with the Porsche rubber parts. He wants to be an exclusive distributor and mark the stuff up like crazy, then he commits to 100 and backs out and only wants 20. We gave up on him. This is just an aside to Marks normal manufacturing business. He makes architectural grade stuff. For example, a Porsche 914 front targa top seal which costs $400 - Mark makes and sells for $169.00. That is cost plus a little to cover the reverse engineering time. The real plan would be to talk Les Cannaday into having his source make them. He has a source that is about ready to pick up where Precision left off. Someone call Les...

WTB 1973 Bumper Rubber Parts
Well, if someone stands up and says yup, I have a set of new old stock rubber for the bumpers squirrelled away on a shelf, I will use it to reverse engineer - give it back unmolested and give them a free set of the reproduction. Anyone? Beuller?
