what after market EFI will work for a 75z??
+1 vote for SDS. I use it on my 2.4 liter 914 motor. Pretty simple to use. However, you don't know what cam you have do you? You say "bigger cam" and most performance cams available are not appropriate for EFI. They rob you of vacuum. Some EFI systems require 'some' vacuum for the MPS to operate and be involved in your fuel metering. Wrong cam and you will have very little vacuum to work with. This is just as true for the stock system. You can meter the fuel with TPS and O2 sensors but I would have to check, SDS may require MPS. You might be better off with Webers or Mikuni carbs.

I just checked... It does not say stupid on my forehead.

I just checked... It does not say stupid on my forehead.
I found a second factory service manual in the stuff that came with my '73... I don't need two so I put one in the Classifieds... I get a response! Yah!!! Wants to know if I still have it and the condition. I respond. Today, I get a response telling me that he wants it, wants to pay with a Cashiers check and he will have a trucking company pick it up. It's a book. I doubt you'll need a truck. Why do these idiots still try this crap? Hey! Show some real balls! Send me a cashiers check for $5000 and have me keep $3000 and send you $2000 and the book? Criminals amuse me.

Fastest Car You Have Ridden In?
Drove a friend's Carrera GT on the street. Rode in it on the track. Rode with Geoff Brabham back in the '70's in a stock Toyota Corolla. Proving once again that it isn't always the car. He was fast!!!

Black smoke when heavy throttle..
I would suspect that there is no way to properly tune a 4 barrel. You are probably rich when the progressive barrels kick in. Very inefficient. Go stock...

My 240Z has possibly been killed
Your best defense at this point is to have an independent appraisal done. Yes, they can give an appraisal even after the accident. Also, get comps. Your car was a numbers matching refresh/restoration. Find 2-3 similar cars ie: numbers matching refresh/restore in 1st generation that have an asking price in the $10K plus range. I can see from your pictures that this will not be difficult. Once you have evidence to show that the adjuster is wrong he has to cave. Even if he doesn't, do NOT settle. The longer you wait the more likely his or her boss is to get involved. Once they do, the check can get much larger. Trust me, one of my best friends was an adjuster. They are under a lot of pressure to get you to settle fast and low. DON'T!!!

My 240Z has possibly been killed
Do NOT settle. These adjusters are under incredible pressure to get it settled and the more you stonewall them the higher they will go. Demand an independent appraisal. This will be over $10K I am sure and then they will want to fix it... JUST SAY NO!!!

72' 240z Sunroof ideas?
I had this done on a 280Z ten years ago. I went to pick and pull with a battery operated Sawzall and cut the roof off then took it to a body shop and had them put it in... I think IIRC, the shop charged $500 to do it and told me he would never do it again as it took 4 times longer than he estimated.

Had my car appraised.
There are many other insurance companies that insure 'classic' cars and often, major insurers partner with these companies. My own regular insurance company is USAA and they partner with American Classic. It is a good idea to insure the car for more than the appraisal since that value is the value today when the appraiser had eyes on your car while any loss would take place in the future when the car might be worth much more. Also, remember that 'stated value' is different than 'agreed value'. In the case of loss, the former says that on X date 'you said' the car was worth Y. While the latter states that on X date 'we said' the car was worth Y. In one, you still have a potential battle to wage, while the other is a smoother road to follow...

Measurement on triple webers?
Ken, I have triple Webers with the long manifolds on mine. On the Z, I barely have room to get the air filters off the cleaner assembly on a Z. I have to twist and pull at the brake reservoirs. I don't have time to measure right now but I should have some time tomorrow. Did you get a hold of Gary about your engine? That's a good looking car and with L power it will be a torque monster!
