  1. 944 and 911 seats are the same. I forgot about the 944 because in general, I don't do watercooled Porsche. Although I do like the Cayman, GT2 and 3, and new 918 Spyder. Anyone interested in doing this same swap can find ads on Pelican Parts. Follow the links to the classifieds. Rennlist is another possibility.
  2. So how about the rest of you Sacramento guys? Can you come?
  3. Those are either '80's 911SC or later Carrera 'Sport' seats with the extra side to side supports in the seat back. "I am not sure which seat came first but it would not surprise me if Datsun copied Recaro on these" I am not sure if Datsun copied Recaro but Recaro was a contractor to Porsche and that seat might have actually been made or designed by Recaro. I think if you want to go to the trouble (I would have to) of getting them lower in the car, you could cut out the seat supports and lower them an inch or so. Might be the perfect finishing touch.
  4. Perfect! See you there!
  5. Let's do it again! The September Sacramento Z Car Reunion is Saturday, September 25th, 9am to Noonish. Family Donuts and Deli at 9045 Fair Oaks Blvd. on the corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Avenue. Shine 'em up and bring 'em out!
  6. I am thinking the 25th but I don't want to call that official yet... Sorry you missed it.
  7. If you're looking for someone who mentions Datsun in their part numbers go to TWM's website. They have throttle bodies specifically for Datsun L-6 motors. They sell some kind of EFI system too. I mentioned the Jenvey TB only in reference to what I have on my Porsche motor. They might not even make anything for an L-6 motor. The throttle body is just a tube with a throttle plate for the air to go through. It mounts the injector but other than that, it wouldn't matter who's you use as long as it is good quality. I mentioned the Simple Digital Systems or SDS because it is simple to tune and doesn't require a laptop interface or software you have to learn.
  8. Sorry we missed you Brian! John Cardenas from Antioch was the last 914 to leave. The other Z cars left a bit earlier. I left at exactly noon. I have these monthly. See you next event!
  9. Joe, I do know someone more in your neighborhood with a trailer. I am in an Eastern suburb of Sacramento. As has been said, you aren't going to move a frame rail by hand. Nor would you want to be able to. It is stiff and beefy for a reason. My friend is in Antioch but that is close enough for Govt. work. He would help you if I asked him, but you should probably help him out with something to even up the karma. He is a 914 guy.
  10. Where are you at? I have a trailer and I have just set unibody cars on 4X4's before for the trip to the body shop. Probably the most accurate frame straightening is done on something called a Celette bench. They want the engine and suspension off the car for that though. Not cheap and not every shop does it. The one I know of is Yeaman Autobody in Palo Alto.
  11. I have twin dual throat Jenvey throttle bodies and SDS injection on my Porsche 914. It works very well. I want to do the same with my 73 240Z someday.
  12. Thanks for the Pics!

I have a bunch but I think they are mostly 280Z switches. Try contacting Zonthebrain or something like that. He rebuilds them.
  22. Dealt with him in the past. I bought something on eBay from him and it came broken. He hounded me to hell and back before I wrote him off. That was years ago. I suspect he might have been just pissed at the world because he was one of the most totally unreasonable people I have ever dealt with. Given that he is still in business, I wonder if he hasn't mellowed or changed his ways. I might try him again if he had something I need.
  23. Let's see all the locals at the August Sacramento Z Car Reunion!
