I own a 72 240Z and a 82 ZXT. My next Z will be a 92. It's to bad they didn't make one in 2002 that way I'd have one from every ten years.

I'm sorry to hear about Rick. I met him @ the ZCCA in Daytona he pulled up behind me at the hotel and we talked for quite awhile waiting to check in. the car is beautiful. Carl and Jim your doing a great thing for his wife.

Nice find, love the color, price was great. Of coarse you be putting more than that into if you want to bring it up to what it should be but that's still a steal. Enjoy it.

Buy the ZX and keep the 280. I have a 240 and a ZX and enjoy them both.

Carl, Congrats. I was surprised that you drove it to Lakeland. I guess Ahrens did a good job while you were up in G'ville.

I've owned 2 72z's and neither of them had them. The first one I had I purchased in in 74.

Sounds like your going to have to do a rebuild sooner than later. I know it's a difficult pill to swallow but once it's done it's something you won't have to worry about. Been there done that but I still love my Z.

Thanks for the video Carl. It's great to see Bill's car back on the track again after it's incident in NC. I wish I could have been there but I was up in Atlanta for a Falcons game.

Weasel, I'm thinking of upgrading to a ZX dizzy.Is there a difference between the 79 and the other year ZX's. Does it really make that much of a difference? Is there a web site that shows you how to do it for those's that are not that mechanicaly inclined?

Well said Carl. Many of those Z's going for the big $ are probably bought by those true collectors and intend to keep them and not for specualtion. I find it interesting watching the wide variation of the price of first gen Z's. I know condition has alot to do with it but those of the same condition do vary alot. As what has been said before they're only worth what someone is willing to pay for at the time. I think many of us that own these cars are because we appreicate and enjoy a great little sports car that doen't break the bank to own.

Nice car, you'll have a blast with it. Good idea about not driving it in the rain. Mine stays inside if there's a chance of rain . How about bring it to Amelia Island this spring for the big show. Those of going would love to see it.

As others have said, last year in Daytona if you wanted to enter the speedway and attend the show you had to be registered which was costly I guess a DIS rule about getting in the track. In order for my son to attend just the car show I had to pay the entire 5 day registration alot of $ for the the average spectator. I'm sure there would have been alot more spectators if it had been prorated but it was well worth it to be able to drive my Z on banks of Daytona.

I bought one on E-bay to replace my not so good one for about the same price. I didn't know they were still availible from Nissan. I'll know to check with them in the future before purchasing parts in the future.

Nice looking car sailor bob. I too had buyers remorse at first, every little thing was major I thought. after all I didn't buy a new car. It was just great to be back in a 240 again after many years. It doesn't look like you have alot of major work. Good luck. Here's mine at Daytona last year.

Derek, What were you smokin? I had the same problem with the windows up but when I replaced my tailghts with new ones and gaskets and sealed up the back panel most of it went away. I still get some smell with the windows down when I'm decelerating I guess it's areo effect. If you still got the stuff maybe I can come down and we can smoke my car. Brian, Good luck selling the beach thing to your wife and daughter. The beach is still to cold there that time of year for us natives.

Will, I'd really like to go since it's just up the road from me. What's the process for attending. It would be great to see a bunch of Z's lined up outside the entrance. Keep me informed.
