  5. Does anyone know what the trim version the turbo is in the stock 280zxt. I believe the turo that came stock from Nissan is a Garret T3 model, but I am unsure of the A/R size - 40, 45, 50, or 60? I have found compressor maps for this model and would like to find out if the stock turbo is suitable for my wants, needs and desires. thanks, any info appreciated

Try checking the battery connections. I had the same thing happen and found the tach stopped bouncing once I cleaned the terminals (and negative cable on the opposite end of the battry terminal) and retightened the clamps/connections. The bad connections are probably limiting current flow. The 240z tach reads electrical flow (current) off the positive wire to the coil. The squeaking belts could be the alternator working overtime and may be related to your tach problems
