  1. Maybe we should go back to discussing when & why it's OK to break the speed limit...
  2. OUR national anthem is NOT "art!" You DON"T need to artistify it. I suppose you want the President to do some break dancin' after he takes the Oath of office? If you want to sing your heart out, then do it with feeling, not "art." If you want to sing loudy, then turn off the microphone...

It's the part that the chain is connected to and will turn on the center rivet so the chain doesn't get twisted.
  4. People make a big thing about "patriotism" lately. I prefer to call it Nationalism, since that is what it really is. Any way... if you are a person with so much respect for your country, why dishonour the original songwriter by adding all those unnecesary flourishes & stuff? It's just plain disrespectful to do it a little, and damn sacrilegious to do it a lot. An then there's Roseanne Barr...

Should we put on the chain to the later model cars? I always hold the cap in my left hand (never put the cap down) as I pump gas, but it might be better to have a chain, or a wire. Was it just a bare chain, or did it have a protectove tube on the chain? thx

    What's that, NACA style ones?http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7BSA03/30-7090
  7. Up til about 1997, I used to think of beer as "The official currency of the .U.S.A."LOL You could go to a ball game ( any kind- football, basebal, BB, tennis...) and get a beer for $1.25? and now (at the Jac in Cleveland, OH) it's $4!?? If you needed a favour, you first bought a six-pack, invited your buddy, then negotiated the rest while you worked ( and drank!) And imported beer was something "extra valuable.":p Back then you could even buy Bud, Miller, etc. oversees! PrOxLaMuS- I think the newer auto trans from a diesel Maxima could probably handle a turbo. Except nobody knows how to put one in a Z with all the electronic control stuff. (Will?)
  8. Yeah, I had an example of a black lady murdering the national anthem, but I've also heard white people doing it- Usually country singers, I think.

BTW, the ZCCA web site is back online.
  10. If you don't care enough to bring up things that need to be changed, then you can be sure this country is going down the drain. How would you like it if somebody embellished the corps' song like that? It really irks me to hear people talking, using the cell phone, reaching for a beer, & doing things when the anthem is being sung. It used to be that people even inside the corridors would stop. It only takes a minute! About the only loyalty people have is to themselves or the Dollar bill.
  11. This is the open chat area, bud. (Almost) anything goes in here.
  12. I think it's more like the freedom of speech to complain bout something that's wrong to make improvements. That's how it works in a Democracy...BTW, as I originally mentioned, I love Rocco Scotti's rendition. He sung the anthem for the Cleveland Indians for like 25 years. He could hit every note, His voice would ring out all over the stadium & I'll tell ya- I got the chills once!
  13. You're absolutle right. We, the "best" country in the world, can't even sing our own national anthem! I'll bet you people in even the eastern European countries can sing their national anthem. I saw some stock car race at Indy today and the singer ( a black lady) embellished it so much it sounded like Eddy Van Halen doing a solo! I culdn't take it so I changed back to the Weather Channel (no Bass fishing today.) We CAN do something. We can contact all the TV companies & syndicates to complain about it. Have your friends do it. Especially the sports syndicates; the ones that do football, baseball (maybe), auto racing. But you should watch some programmes so you can cite examples.:devious:
  14. I prefer the Maxima 4 spd trans sswap.
  15. Every time I hear the National Anthem sung on TV, it's totally screwed up!! I'm not talking about Jimmy Hendrix, who did it as part of his act, but more like at a big car race or some other televised event. :devious: You're supposed to stand up, take off your cap & face the flag out of RESPECT, but then they PAY somebody to totally mangle the singing! I wish I could get those singers arrested. Just ONE would do it! I've heard it sung better by 4th graders!! You'd think professional or trained singers would know how do sing a song like that with respect. Let's get those un-patriotic professional SCREW-UPS to sing it like it's supposed to be sung.:devious: :devious: I'd have them do it like Rocco Scotti of the Cleveland Indians. Leave the improvisation junk to "America's Next Idol" where you get points by being WAY off... Or maybe we should spray BEER all over while somebody screws up the singing...:ninja:

I still think that what they call 'negotiating' sounds a LOT like whining to me.

At first I thought you couldn't do that GG, because one side of the headlight headlight switch is always hot. But the same logic means the other side gets +12V when you turn the lights on (IIRC).

Sorry, Stephen I have signatures off (they use up the screen.) The only way I can think of to mount a deflector without having anything messy showing is something that goes into the indow channel and held in place by having the window up (Duh) or to clamp onto the rain gutter.
  21. TomoHawk posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
The only issue I see about mounting the side window deflector is that you couldn't stick it to the top of the window frame, because of the weather strip. Maybe, if it was thin enough, You could stick it on and put the weatherstrip over it. Steven- I think you are probably talking about the visors like the ones that go on old cars & trucks? I've never seen them on new cars & trucks. Looks like time for some shopping.
  22. TomoHawk posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
No, not the louvers that go on the back window, I'm referring to those wind deflectors that go on the side windows. They are also called louvers.
  23. TomoHawk posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
Are there any compatible window visors for a 280Z? It might be nice to use on the highwayto deflect some air from making it TOO windy inside, and hopefully removable for showing. thx.
  24. It was a slightly loose belt. As tight as it seemed, it wasn't tight enough. Now for the brake squeal, & the radio is funny (more 'sounds' to chase down & fix.)
