  1. I used 400 paper so far
  2. there are some draw-backs: The front caps are unmodified because the bearing sticks out, and since the spare has a flat cap attached to it, it may need to be removed to put the spare on the front. I was originally going to have those caps machined from thicker material, and have the logo laser-engraved-maybe even a hologram? I just have to figure out how to polish those spokes. I've been sanding them when I polish the rims, and they still have the machining grooves!
  3. This is what it looks like. You think I should polish or paint the brake drums silver?
  4. Come to think of it- what are the proper requirements for battery cables for a Zed? Does Datsun have a chart of the wire specs for certain things (headlights, starter, body lights, etc.?) thx
  5. While we're at it, should we also discuss first Aid kits? or do you think anything would work fine for that, or go with what the Red Cross suggests? Your personal skill with first aid is probably an inportant factor here also. That and where you are going/what the event is, should dictate the contents of the kit (i.e. road racing vs. a country tour). Always have a gallon jug of water with you. thx
  6. I think that's the best advice to give to somebody assembling a tool kit. It's not a bad thing to overpack, but then I think you would have the potential to pick the wrong tool to fix something, or to fix something you're better off having help with. It's best to travel in groups, if possible. More fun too.
  7. Thanks Lance, for the tip about Rock Auto. I bought a vacuum pod for a 79 AT dizzy, and it hooked up correctly. The engine works fine, but I want to do a tune up (plugs & timing) before I can tell for sure. It seems to be running smoother at WOT off the line; used to run a little rough at WOT from a stop.
  8. I go to car cruise-ins a lot and they sell T-shirts with cars on them, so to me and so many others, a car shirt is a car shirt, no matter what car is on it. And on every shirt, it tells you the name of the car, and maybe some other slogan. BTW, my nephew (he's 15) was here today, and I showed him the picture, and he said it was a 1969 Camaro.

Get your time estimates in writing! Or make up your own (contract) on a computer and get people to write deadlines on it & sign that. Maybe even cost estimates. It seems that when somebody signs off on a project, they seem to remember better that it needs to get done. thx
  10. If it's not absolutely obvious what kind of car it is, you DO need some kind of text, unless you want people to be asking you "What kind of car is that on your shirt?" Since caricature's purpose is to exaggerate to give a comic effect, the accompanying text is needed. Or you could change the graphic to include the Z logo.

  12. Like a ricer?? "You can't smoke in my car, but my car can smoke the competition."

That's weird... Ocasionally, I'll hear a relay click on or off when I have the key set to ACC. Maybe I have some loose or intermittent grounds.
  14. Sorry, David, but I don't think that other thread (which I read earlier) explains what the shirt is supposed to "say." It's OK, if he wants to make a little money, but what's the motif of the graphic? Racing? Restoration? Zs suck? Sex in my Z? what? The old T-shirt was promoting this website, and I think it did a great job of that. Anybody can draw a car on a shirt, but it needs to be "different." It needs to say something to you. Otherwise, a white shirt with a barcode & the word "shirt" on it would be fine to sell to make some bux. mikey, I like your graphic talent. Don't take anybody's criticisms personally. This shirt will turn out great when we get this question answered & things get focused. This is basically a can of worms.

What are you using to run the grounds from point to point?
  16. Aims nukes at Enigma... He wanted all opinions, not just yours, mate. (just kidding about the nukes. How is one to know the watermark text was to protect his idea? How is one to know it wasn't part of the 'art?' It wasn't obvious, so you see what happens. I still prefer the old T-Shirt scheme, but then I usually don't like 'art' except for display. Zedman, Maybe it would help to know why you wanted to develop another T-shirt. Are you trying to make a statement? The old one, IMO, was to spread the word about this club.
  17. I was expecting a caricature of a Z car, like you have, with some text around it. Maybe like "Beat Zis
  18. Are there some shadow letters too?
  19. It's hard to read what it says.

If you put a wooden speaker box in the back, how do you get to the lightbulbs?
  21. Who or what is eBenZee?

I noticed that the steering bottom column cover under the ignition switch area was a little warm, is that a symptom of something bad? On a 280Z thx
  23. Can an 'auto electrician' make up some cables with the correct length & ends (clamp & terminal)? I'd like to add an extra tail for ground and one for headlamps, but would still like to have the proper oem look for the clamps. Those clamps with the temporary ends should be just that- temporary.

I was answering the initial question. Do you have any information on the BMW injector connector upgrade? thx

You can trace the injector wires through the ECU connector inside the car. I think you could use a small battery & test light to do that.
