    Yup, so far.

Rubber- If it's a TX car then definitely check the rubber stuff (bushings, fuel, water & brake hoses) to see how hard or dry it is. Engine- You could pull off the bottom hose from the fuel filter and see what comes out- either clean gas or rusty gas. Rusty gas means rust in the gas tank. I spent the first summer replacing rubber hoses, fuel & frake lines.

The reason I'm inquiring is because at a car show last summer, I was penalized because my drip rails didn't follow the body lines, or- stuck out and were twisted. :hurt: expert judge...

The aft ends of the roof drip rails, have become loose, as if they were pulled off, and they seem to be twisted. Is that normal? The inner shelf flange is turned up so that thhe water can easily run underneath. I'd like to get them back on & untwisted. They don't easily twist back. I can get a pic later, but I think this may be a coimmon problem. What's the fix? thx
  5. Sometimes????
  6. That looks like an attempt at a bypass. Does the heater work- are the heater hoses hooked up right?

In a 280Z, there aren't any relays involved in the headlights or turn signals, so it looks like your problem is either in the switch or the connections. Check the ground wires first. You might try to patch the ground leg to see if each system works- that means a switch problem. Do your switches 'feel' OK? No looseness, or broken bits inside?
  8. you guys are lucky. I went to a JY called "PickAPart" and they don't let you take anything off the cars! specially engines- you only get whole engines. And you have to ask for a specific car from 99 on.
  9. When you put a playlist in the Burn list, Mediaplayer will just treat it as if you put each songfile on there individually. It's just a shortcut to adding many files. You could just put a whole folder on the list. Mediaplayer may rearrange the songs to it's own order (or whatever the settings are) while burning. Check settings or options to see if you can change the order or turn it off sorting. I'm going to make a disk in the format of a Data disk, with a folders containing a single playlist and the associated MP3 songfiles.

  11. Floats down- right. I made a stand to support the caps in the normal attitude. I found that if either float is down, the circuit will close, meaning they are wired in parallel. So I didn't need the stand after all. Both sensors worked, but the caps weren't as shiney as the seller (zfindings) claimed. I will soak them in EvapOrust, then buff, and try out my new Zinc plating wand. BTW, these were off a ZX. He must be parting off a old, rusted JY car. He's got a number of neutral & negative feedback comments. Thanks, Steven. Question resolved (Gary. )
  12. All you have done so far was to make a CD ith MP3 files on it, but did you get the playlists on it too?

That's how my carpet is now- to the edges. I assume the PO put in new carpets- and a bad job at that too (won't lay down smoothly.) I might be able to gut the front & straighten out the carpets. The PO cut out the carpet from betewen the seat rails, so maybe I could and cover the rails & between with some vinyl stuff and fill in between the rails with carpet?
  14. Can you test the level sensors? I got a set of caps through eBay. I just put the test light & battery through the wiring, and I figured tat if one or both floats are UP (caps are upside down on the bench), then the light should go ON, right? thx.
  15. It's probably not rocket science, but usually the ownwers manual doesn't tell you everything you need to know- especially the ones written in multiple languages (pictures). I'll bet that the solution is so simple, when you discover it, that you'll do this when you get it :stupid:

Which models had those? No help from the microfiche.
  17. Playlists are a defined sequence of songs. Usually, you pick a playlist, ad only those songs will play. Unless you go to random mode.
  18. You said that already. Did you use playlists?
  19. Sorry, I was asking if somebody had experience in making an MP3 disk with playlists that will actually works in one of those newer car stereos.
  20. Keep in mind that you don't have to have a Ipod to play MP3s. There are alternatives to the Ipod for MP3 playing, and they are much more affordable. Nate- How many playlists do you put on a CD? thx
  21. That's a totally different question then- how do you select the songs you put on your Ipod? Personally, I have an idea for a playlist (rock music, mood, wakeUP!, sleep, Polkas, etc.,) and I assemble about 20 songs to go with that idea. It sounds like some people will just rip every CD they own to put it on the Ipod.
  22. No, I'm talking about how many RPM get to the rear wheel, which depends very much on how much the torque converter slips; and they do slip some at all speeds. Otherwise, you should be getting all the RPM from the engine to the wheels. Driveline drag only makes the engine turn harder to get the car moving.
  23. Don't forget, the RPMs you turn at any speed also depends on the efficiency of the driveline. A torque converter that slips will give you more RPM. So use a higher stall speed TC?
  24. I should check the compression first or a leak test? That would tell you if the valves aren't sealing well.
  25. Yeah, the valves were only adjusted. I think I will either get the head totaly serviced or the engine refreshed eventually (If I ever get a job:surprised )
