  1. I am not sure what you mean by vaccuum canisters on the intake. I bought the whole Z Therapy set up. Intake manifold, carbs, linkages and new Nissan carb insulators. I did find a couple of products that do a great job of cleaning of old grease and grime though. Goop Hand cleaner with a Scotch Brite pad works great. TSP is a strong cleaner. And Castrol makes a cleaner that is really powerful on grease. Used that to clean the engine bay. Marty
  2. No the original did not look that good! The original color was Dark Blue metalic 903. It was not that nice. The PO painted the exterior before I got it. As I was told, it is Ford, Midnight Blue, 2 basecoats, with 3 coats of clear. I like it way better than the original color. About yours, you should be fine switching from one original color to another, as long as you do a thorough job of changing it everywhere. That is if you are going the originality route. I had a '73 before, that I mildly customized. It was originally that pukey lime yellow, which I coudn't stand. I repainted it Guards Red (Porche), with Golld pearl in the clear coat. That car was drop dead beautiful!!! So, If you like red, go for it!! Just be prepared to be noticed by the cops too.
  3. Daniel, The valve cover is one of the early 2400 OHC covers. They were only available on the '70 model I believe. Marty
  4. Here's a pic of the engine. Marty

I always find it interesting to see the cars that belong to our club members. So, I thought I would share a pic or two of mine. I picked up this car (HLS30-05341, blt 6/70) about 3 1/2 years ago. It had 69K on it, about 74K now. I redid the whole interior, which is the rare blue color. This past year I restored the engine compartment, complete with all new seals, timing chain, paint, new Z Therapy carbs, new decals and as much new parts as I could get my hands on. It has Panasports, Yokahama 215/60/15's and Tokico struts. Next I hope to redo the entire suspension with stock parts. This is the second 240Z that I have restored, and have loved every minute of it! The first pic is at the Indy Z Car show, where it took Marty
  6. Actually, I think they are from a 1978 280Z. A friend of mine bought a new '79 ZX, but didn't like the wheels. He got them to switch some previous model year wheels on it for him. Marty
  7. Go to the main menu and click on the web links. It list 74 businesses that sell Z parts. You can find anything you need with that list. Marty
  8. I believe the serial number is stamped into the firewall, behind the top of the brake master cylinder. Marty
  9. I bought the MS seat covers 3 years ago. The pattern is close, but not exact to the original. The grain to the vinyl was not close at all. They are holding up pretty well though. I would go with Classic Datsun's covers. Marty
  10. Classic Datsun Motorsports. They did some of the Nissan restoration cars. IT is the best stuff out there that I have heard of. http://www.classicdatsun.com/
  11. Do you have any pictures of the car that you can email? It would also help to know all that was done to the car, color, options etc. Is it all stock, or has it ben modified? Thanks, Marty
