Hi Friends, I installed A few weeks ago a set of polyurethane mustache bar bushings. But after this, the noise of the diff-gears increased so much , that I don't like driving with closed windows anymore. Many people her did the same, but am I the only one with with this complains ? I'm sure that there is no metall connection what can transmit the noise. And the diff is o.k too. Thanks in advance Rainer

Hi, installing the front strut mount (rubber/metall hat) on the backside will lower your about 2cm. And it will not reduce the travel way like shorter springs do. By this: I'm still looking for this strutmount, so Guus have a look in the dutch parts warehouse. Cheers Rainer

Hello, I searched the forum and get a bit confused. I have a 260Z with R200 (3.9) diff. but this has too much play in the gear. I can get a 280ZX diff(1981) , but the driveshafts are different. Do I have to swap the driveshaft flanges from my old diff ? Thanks for you help Rainer

Hello 240ZX, I believe that the influence of more under-pressure at the needle-seat is much bigger than a smaller needle opening. My carbs run ,fine only the emission test at idle is hard to reach. Both stops look like hammered flat. There might be a test with color tune spark-plug and lifting the dash pot, till the ideal position is found. At the moment I have 2/10mm I expect 3-4/10 mm will help. Cheers Rainer

Hello Folks, I have no real problem with my carbs, only that they are running a bit too rich on idle. A friend stated, that the pertinax dashpot bumper is worn and now the gap is too small. The result is that there is too much underpressure at the needle. I have the original factory manual and I have the ztherapy video, but nobody mentioned about the original dimensions. For a better understanding I made a picture. Does somebody know more about this little piece of plastic Thanks in advance Rainer

gentlemen, the fog clears up. www.atlanticz.ca It looks to be normal that the spring is compressed in all situations. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/suspension/tokicoupgrade/strut21.jpg For a test I installed the old springs back, but now my car is still about 2cm higher. The only conlusion is, that the expansion force of the new shock (20KG) will push up the car. Has anybody similaer experience ? So far Rainer

Hello to all, I made some pictures and it will clear my story. I twisted the the names strut and shocks before. That will confuse. :stupid: I will not say that the old MSA springs are worn,because they were installed short before I bougth the care, so that mean 10 k miles. But the new springs don't fit nice because : -he care is too high, -The uncompressed spring is to short, or the strut is too long. On the front about 3cm rear abou 5mm. This will give problems with the german laws and coil over is not allowed too for road use. Possible solutions: -Get other springs from Tokico, but I bougth them in USA and ship them to germany. That's not so easy. - install the shorter strut mounting isolator from a front on the rear side too, than I'm about 1 inch deeper. But for the front ???? Has anybody a service contact adress from tokico USA ? Cheers Rainer

Hell friends. At the moment I try to install a new suspension because auf problems with the old one. But the springs whill not not realy fit Old: - stock shocks, no cartridge. - blue MSA Springs (told by preowner). - rear strut not enough rebound, when wheels are free from the ground, the sprong had about 1 inch play. - The car was on his maximum lowered, because the was not much working space left till the bump stopper get in contact. Distance to the ground (edge of fender) 64,5cm Front and 62,5 rear. Now my new tokico illumina's and springs: Rear: rebound nearly o.k 5mm missing. Front: the strut rod is about 3cm too long, on the picture you can see that the sprong is about 1 cm shorter. So the new strut must be longer. Distance to the ground (edge of fender) 68,5cm Front and 67,5 rear. That means +4cm front and +5cm (+2"). that looks like a 4 wheel drive. I'm sure that I missed not parts,or swapped them. parts: springs 5022 F and 5022 R Strut BZ3012 and BZ3013 - My car is a european version, much ligther than a us version. - The new strut whill allways expand, does this force push up the car ? Has anybody ideas for me ???? Thanks for your attention Rainer

Hi to all, the test with 9 and 3 o'clock was correct. I could see that the rubber dust cap was moving. Could it be, that under this angle the sway bar is eliminating the spring load in this ball joint ? I have installed the biggest sway bars in my car. A few weeks ago, I ordered some moog ball joints. There is nothing to do wrong ? I filled them up with grease. It looks for me, that the spring load under the balljoint is not high enough. Any ideas ?
