Not what I would consider to be "Bullet" mirrors. But they are mirrors and it is Craigslist. Dennis

The buyer fee is usually 10% of the sale price. Dennis
  3. For anyone interested in reading a little more about the varieties of headlight covers and trim rings, check this link: There are several more threads in the archive that mention many earlier tries at replicating the rings and covers. Lots of good intentions. But, so far, no results. It's a complicated process. Good luck to anyone who can make it happen. Dennis
  4. Wow! That restores my faith in humanity.....for a while, at least. Sound like you found the right guy for the job. Dennis
  5. Are they taking any responsibility for your labor costs? Sorry to hear about the difficulty. Dennis

OK, single large center hole opening is different than on mine. I didn't know they used the vertical rocker antenna switch on later cars. Learned something new! Dennis

Wrong shape? Looks real close to how the one on my '71 is shaped, including the cut out for antenna switch. Wrong size? Dennis

I suppose we'd need a BIFF and a SOCK, too. Many good fight scenes on YouTube. Dennis

And if you ever have a chance to write a script for a revival of the 1960s Batman TV show.....!!!! Dennis

The only way to determine if it's good enough...... is to try it. Let us know how it works out for you. Dennis
  12. Let me be the first to ask.......Cost? Dennis

LoJack is expensive so some people get a little creative. One clever workaround I heard about was to buy a cheap used iPhone - cracked screen would be a good choice and then put it on a an inexpensive wireless pay as you go plan. Hide it in the car, like by the taillights and hot wire it for continuous power. Then use the "find my phone" feature to track it if the car is stolen. Also, there are other commercial choices. I agree. Most of the cheap & easy theft deterrents will only stop or slow down the spur of the moment thief looking for a joy ride. If your car is worth more for parts or export, LoJack is the way to go. Dennis

    Looks aftermarket to me. Dennis

I know you've had the "DO A GOOGLE SEARCH" lectures a few times in the past. Look what I found when I did a Google search for "fix gas tank leaks" - this and about 500 additional suggestions. I'm fairly certain you could have done that, too. Time to put on your Big Boy Z Fixer coveralls and do a little research on the problems you encounter. On the other hand, you could sell the car to someone willing to tackle routine maintenance projects and simplify your life and mine. Dennis Dennis

For many years, I carried an applicator tube of two part epoxy aircraft fuel tank sealant in my Z in case of emergency leaks like that. Never had to use it and not sure if you can still buy such a product. But, at the time, I figured if it worked on a C-130 aircraft tank it would work on a Z. Dennis
  18. Not quite Olympic level trouble, but enough that I wouldn't let him have my keys if he asked. Shops get in a bind when they keep taking in projects, and DEPOSITS, in order to keep the doors open and the lights on. Pretty soon they have a huge backlog of unfinished work and no money to fund completion. That happened to me with a '66 Mustang GT fastback project several years ago. Dennis
  19. You might want to look at this one: http://tinyurl.com/hnyfcrc It retracts fully and has a key to secure it. No tempting antenna shaft sticking up to break off when you remember to put it down. I have a similar one on my '70 Porsche. Dennis
  20. Be sure to set your alarm tonight. Dennis
  21. There aren't a lot of choices. You can have the short floppy black rubber one that miscreants won't break off to make a zip gun or you can have the shiny chrome extendable kind that they will. Even if you get the extendable type that can be fully collapsed and locked, there will be a time that you forget to push it down and someone will break it off or bend it double just because it's there. A couple questions.... What manual types have you looked at so far? Why not get an electric antenna? Dennis
  22. Nice! Looks like new.......as best I can remember from 45 years ago when I picked mine up from the dealer. Dennis
  23. Fuse - either in-line, in fuse box, or both locations. Dennis
  24. The separate switch Mark mentions came in two versions on the early cars. The earliest switch was a vertical rocker switch on the right side of the radio faceplate - right of the tuning knob. The 2nd generation switch was a smaller horizontal switch on the faceplate located directly above the radio tuning knob. Either switch enabled the driver to fully or partially extend or retract the factory electric antenna. Sounds like you have a newer style antenna that automatically fully extends and retracts when your aftermarket radio is turned on or off. If you want to control it, you'll have to add an ON/OFF switch to the power line between the radio and the antenna. Not a pretty solution, but about the only way you will get control of the movement of the new antenna. Dennis
  25. Here in Alta California, it's a common term of endearment. Dennis
