What is the most "sensible" trans swap?
I have a 4 speed with a 3:54 diff that I may be deciding to sell - not sure yet...........the 3.54 has plenty of get up and go due to the gearing ratio. I installed a 5 speed with a 3:9 diff last year and have the other set in storage. My 4 speed is dead on and the diff was perfect............pm me an offer if you are interested. Still thinking if I want to sell them or keep them.

time to tackle the Tachometer
Remember, you car will not start without a tach connected - since you have two tachs (it sounds like) send off one and keep one in so you can keep on driving while it is out. Be ready to lay on your back like a pretzel - great time to change out some of your lightbulbs if needed while your at it............the speedo is the hardest.

uses search but still confused on a few small things
Do you have a volt meter to see if you are getting power - maybe this link will help you. We really don't know what the problem is at this point. Will the engine turn over? Will it crank and not start? Are you getting fuel? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/help-me/41386-73-240z-no-spark-coil.html

Heres a cool mod
I have my AF Gauge mounted in the glove box along with my Retrosound Sound System. Removed the glovebox - used a black abs mounting board. the Retrosound has a remote control so I don't have to reach over to open the door unless I am monitoring the AF ratio. This is a color coded sweep dial with a digital middle- to the left is too rich / to the right is too lean / straight up is dead on. Total cost was approx $275.00

'Rally' shift knob, and info on other optional goodies
The last time I researched a comp steering wheel they were in the $600 range. I purchased a Momo steering wheel and it has been fantastic. The feel and the grip is far superior to the small wooden steering wheel. I still have my original refinished in storage - but the Momo is a great upgrade IMO. I put in Recaro Seats as well as a Momo Shift knob - all excellent interior upgrades. Now I have my azz in my seat not sliding and a steering wheel that fits my hand...........life is good!

Jason - Evidently you have not been inside many new cars recently with satellite radio. The higher quality cars don't stream via a bluetooth connection - the iPhone plugs into the car - sound quality is excellent. I would have a hard time turning Pandora off at this point. Unlimited selections of custom music stations - great sound quality - no commercials............

Northern California Weber (maybe Mikuni) tuning day anyone?
Rob - Let us know what Keith's viewpoint is on the Mikuni's - I have several jets and so forth and have tested last year with my AF gauge - I have been keeping a spreadsheet with the different jets and how they effect my driveability - like to know Keith's results for the engine that he has tested with the different Mikuni's.

" basic settings first gen su " guidelines anyone?
Most of our younger members bypass the search feature and ask direct questions......by doing that there is a TON of information that they are missing due to not searching. Not saying you are but it is the common error, IMO. There is tons of information buried in these threads and by looking - researching - and digging you will find a lot more info that just asking members their opinions. Now once you have researched and have a question any member would be more than willing to assist. Best of luck with your project.

" basic settings first gen su " guidelines anyone?
Before touching a thing on your carbs I would advise you to read - read - and read some more on your carbs. There is no magic fix for SU's - it takes everything working together in unison for your SU's to be spot on. Personally, I would ditch the above diagram and get the correct diagram for your carbs. Once you have read and understand the workings of your SU's then the fix is very easy to implement and correct.

S2000 Seat Swap in 240Z
I still have my original seats but doubt I will ever put them back in the Z. Upgraded seats and steering wheel is a must IMO. Great job with the S2000 seats.
