Your Fuel Mileage???
It all depends on my right foot If I am easy on my fuel I'm getting in the mid twenty's If I am hard on my right foot I get in the in the low teens The single best thing I did was to get my carbs adjusted with a AFR gauge - a lot of other mods but at least I know if I'm rich/lean without guessing.

Dog riding in hatch, not good!
I try to look at my pets age in human years and not calendar years - dogs and cats age approx. 1 human to 8 dog years. The last pet we put down was out cat - she was 16 years old and blind. The one before that was our dog (she was 14 and had eye cancer - we had to have that removed also but the cancer came back. We asked out vet how do you know when to put down a pet and she said when the pet stopped doing it's 3 favorite things it was time...............still hurts like a SOB but nobody wants a loved family member in pain or not living the life that is deserved. Of course we have a cat and a dog - we are animals lovers as well but I keep on telling myself this is our last pet.............I know I am kidding myself too........... This is the best last will and testaments for a pet: http://fortheloveofthedogblog.com/article/dog-writing-poetry/a-dogs-last-will-and-testament

Newbie with question
Elaine - Be sure to get some pics of the battery area / engine bay / interior / rear hatch and all four corners / catch one with the rear hatch open right above the tail lights on the lip where the hatch sits when closed / some of these areas are prone for rust as mentioned above and can effect your sell price. One more pic will be needed - remove your floor board carpets and get down to the metal floor pan - that is a needed pic as well on both sides. Does the dash have any cracks - that would be a good pic also...........keep us posted.

Installing new fuel sending unit
I have the same challenge as well - has anybody figured out how far to bend and to what extent? This may help somebody if theirs just needs cleaning and refreshing: http://desertdatsuns.freeforums.org/fuel-tank-sending-unit-t206.html http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/help-me/38577-another-fuel-gauge-problem-please-help.html

240z rebuild / restoration right down to the shell
Chris - You and Ted are knocking this project out - just saw your thread - fantastic job! One thing I'll bring to your attention on the R200 3:90 diff. I just changed to a ZX 5 speed last year and found a R180 out of a truck (front diff) and that is what I am currently running. On the original 4 speeds they came with a standard diff. A popular upgrade was to go to the 3:54 diff with the 4 speed......a little faster off the line but a little higher on the RPM side at 60MPH. Same gear ratio is true with the ZX (Closed Ratio) 5 speed paired with a 3:9 - a little slower off the line. If you are looking for faster off the line you may want to look for a 4:11 before you do your install - I guess it really depends on how much 60-70 MPH interstate time you are spending vs in town cruising.............at this point I wish I would have moved on the 4:11 initially and not the 3.9 (most of my driving is on two lanes mountain roads and not interstates). Again, great looking progress on your project......keep rock'n on!

New look- flares and mirrors
Steve - Not trying to hijack the thread but have you thought about putting a 4:11 in for a diff - I'm running a Nissan R180 3.90 currently and thinking of upgrading to the Subaru LSD. Was the conversion to the Subaru LSD difficult/expensive? Have you had a discussion on that conversion within the forum that I may have missed? Already thinking of next years projects!

l28build questions
Dan - You may want to call Dave Rebello at Rebello Racing in Ca. When it comes to our engines he is one of the best in the industry - he'll give you straight talk and advise - give you options and custom options - advise on max horsepower if that is what you are after and assist in building your head or sending you the parts for you head/block. He can take it from Mild to Wild - based on the $ you want to spend. Check out his weblink below..........you may want a diesel crank at this point, not sure of your goals with this engine. Welcome to Rebello Racing

Brake restoration, thanks conedodger
OK - so I could not help myself - even with the purchase of the BMW X6 the mods have to go on...........just ordered Porterfield fronts AP114/RS4 and rears 411/RS4, and stainless steel brake hoses. I just can not see the need for a big brake kit for a car that is not tracked. I'll run this for a couple of years with a damn good bleed job and see what kind of brakes I have with this modified engine.............I'm sure it will be more than enough. I've got an upgraded Master Cylinder if needed for a front upgrade if this does not do the trick.....................The Tail of the Dragon will let me know at ZDayZ 2013. Look here to see if your buddies are making the drive, almost 500 owners registered to drive one of the greatest roads in America: http://zdayz.com/

Walk this way
Man - the 70's were great to live through!
-
What are you on the look out for?
Ollie - Be careful dumping your 16"'s - the 15's have a very limited tire selection
-
Now that's a brake upgrade!
Are both of you running Porterfield rear shoes as well? If so are they the R4S? How are your rotors/drums lasting?
