  1. Uh. . Can you throw a screen name at me, whos Darell?
  2. Just sitting here watching the Home and Garden Channel and saw Holmes on Homes laying down a pretty thick strip of fresh Tarmac in a drive way. Well it got me thinking how cool would that be to build a race track out of that very sticky, gooey black stuff. So say you won the lotto for $220 million and wanted a track for your Z and friends. What do think the cost would be to build a track in any configuration you like about the same land size and course length of Fuji Speedway in 3 months time. Just the land and the track, not the grand stands or all the media stuff. I'm thinking maybe $3 million dollars. ~ EDIT ~ Ok thats kind of a low ball so I'll say $6 million.
  3. Sweet, once you move in and you find her asking for an addition to the new house, just stare at her vacantly and say, "we used to have 2 acres to work with" . Hope it works out and thanks for the offer. I'll likely go on Saturday and will try and give you a heads up friday night.
  4. Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying a dudes 280zx L6 this Friday or Saturday. Wondering if any members in or near Sacramento, Ca willing to take a look with me? I can pick you up if need be. Hoping to not get burned without a good 2nd opinion , I don't need any more headaches in my life right now . Leave contact info in my Profile page if you can help as my PM inbox is stuffed. THANKS ~Z~
  5. So a better question then is what year did cars in general start coming with smog equipment? The 1970 Z is the only z without smog parts right? Would guess a 57 Chevy shouldn't worry.
  6. No seriously, in this town I live theres a ton of Z's but only one 1970 Z. Just found another straight '73. Vin was something like HLS30-10473090 which may be for grabs this weekend on the cheap If you want it. Ran a year ago before it was parked i was told. Has Black Appliance Hurricane rims and its green. Needs new interrior and paint but it's all there. I'm 30 miles North of Sacramento .

There's a recent thread on this same topic i believe. Think it has all answers your looking for too.
  8. TA240 I don't get it, isn't your car exempt? What would be the point of testing it? and a visual don't apply cause your allowed to mod your engine anyway because it is exempt. Why would would they intentionally pull over an exempted car?
  9. you should visit Racerville, theres like 40 of 'em here
  10. Yeah, don't fall in love with tha thing and do it. Hold off till you find a better Z for the same price. IMO look for a car for a grand, $1000, and buy that. Most Z's in that price tag have the clean bodies your looking for and in Cali they're plentiful. Heh Motorwan, same idea, same time
  11. Call Stephen's Automotive at 530.671.3820 . He specializes and Z's and used to be a Datsun Dealership mechanic when these where new. Shop is in California but he can likely tell you what your readings mean and how to fix it. FWI
  12. Koalia good thing you had those papers . Usually thats all we have to go on. Zenio- Interesting, how's it differ?
  13. Welcome yo ! Seems like your in a cool part of the world. Post some pics for us.
  14. Found some marks! After looking really really close and with a flash light I saw something very faint. Turns out I was looking for embossed markings when they are actually engraved. After cleaning off all the dirt In the same 12 o`clock place as Pleiners it reads "D11 4". Then in the 3 and 6 o'clock positions but on the inner rim wall are tool marks that are 3 slashes like this "\\\". One set of slashes at each spot. Thats all that i found. The thread towers were made in Taiwan btw. Will post pics Monday.
  15. You lucky guy ! ! Saw it too and even called about it. In the middle of switching Paypal accounts or else I would've bid too, sooo if you ever sell it let me know first . Seriously though thats an awesome find. The seller said it come from a storage unit that belong to an old man who used to buy and sell stuff at flea markets. He said the old man past away and thats when it came out of storage. What do the little insert signs, letters say? When you get it hung and lit up post some pics for us .
  16. That group photo is nice Goose, look like shiny little ninja stars . I would bought those then but was busy buying other little stuff at the time, like house rent ! And P those Vectors at Zparts are the American Racing ones if thats what you mean. Will take my wheel off and have a look again just in case. Thanks guys
  17. GOOSE- where was your markings stamped at? ARNE- don't doubt that is true at all, that said I don't see a design difference compared to the othere rims. Is there one i'm not seeing? IF not i'll use mine for the mold, if there is a difference i'll find a genuin PS when the time comes.
  18. Yeah that Christine's pretty nice, so is that Golden Comando. What was the Golden part of it? Think there like 3 of those movie cars still running around, one of which is pretty jacked up from what i recall. You do know it never came in red right?
  19. By the way, what is it with these unmarked wheels? Jacked up Ruby and took off a Per-Spec and there was nothing on it. Not even the rim size.
  20. your crazy P, the primer OFcourse ! My mechanic had 3 of those Shelby 500's on his Z fore he sold it. Someone stole the 4th wheel out his dads shop in Freseno, CA. They are slightly different than the AR Vector wheels on the General Lee. General Zee for sure . I have a spare unmarked Vector and laid it next to the Shelby's before that Z was sold and you can see they differ. Go to Zparts.com, a shop in Oregon or Washington state, they have 3 of those Vetors for you
  21. Oh it's ok some people swear up and down on Panasports but I can't get with'em especially when I see Watanabes. I like the P/S cause it's really a cool looking period 70's design in my taste, more so with raised white letter tires. Another Z owner in town, recently discovered, has a gold 240z with these same rims but HIGHLY polished silver and push on caps. Very nice choice. Not that have nothing against 5 slot wheels either but for me it depends on the car color, stance and tire choice. Now if these were already big enough for the Wilwood kit i'd be content, and imagine these in Gloss Black if you would with a nice set of spinners. Pic of those 200s wheels Blake?
  22. Just got off the phone with vto and confirmed the wheel will be a "single cast aluminum" piece and comes with Lugs and choice center caps. Though I can design my own center cap disign which I just may do Taking a rim off Ruby Z to read any details or specs on the back. That looks freakin Awesome ! Will load up my new rim pics tommorow. ~Z~
  23. OK just checked my UPSP trakcing number on the ANSA decals and they are now at the doorstep of their distination. Got the Phone number to Nissan Japn today and hopefully they will put me in touche with the Zama Warehouse to try and pull some wieght with NGK Hopfully. NGK USA went far as saying they don't even have anything, like a program of some sorts, for "Historical decals". Nor any in stock of course . Guess they would rather see the history go down the drain with these last 2 we know of still existing . Guy I spoke with was Mark, the Marketing Manger for NGK USA. A cool guy to speak on his behalf but seemed his hands where tied on this project from this end of things. Will update as usuall when I talk to the Japan guys. Hoping ZAMA will help!
  24. So it's a route like the Dragons Tail not a track right?
