Hi guys, just to inform you that the Z works again !!! and i want to thank you all for the help provided Now there is a new question: In the 72 model, the fuse box is a short pig tail fuse box, it has 2 connector with 6 terminals each and 2 separate wires Those 2 wire where do they go ? Thank you all again
  2. Amazing !!!! that is the only word that can describe it
  3. Thanks Enrique, Actually I didn´t know that, I found your advices very interesting and i really apreciate your Help, i will try the procedure you just describe i will keep you inform of the results. Thanks
  4. Thank you Hooj, Is there any possibility for the timing?
  5. Hi to all again, remember my ignition problem? Well i charge the battery and change the spark plugs wires, put the ignitor in and now I get a spark from the coil to the distribuitor, i check each one of the spark plug wires and i also get a blue spark on them, but still the car wont start, it cranks but i does not start, in the wiring process I did not connect the two ballast resistor wires to each other, wires BW (Black white) and the GW (Green white), that is where the BR should be. But i still get the spark. so i am guessing that the problem is not the distribuitor nor the wiring. The car has been sitting for 4 months now, Can you please help give me a hand ? Thank you all

I upgrade the distribuitor to the Pertronix ignitor so i wont have to use a BR and I replace the coil with a 3 Ohms coil also by pertronix

Thank you so it will be 8-9 V on run 12 on start What if I dont have a BR and I have a 3 ohms coil? will it still be the same?

Hi, does anyone knows what is the voltaje and the amps that the coil receives in the BW (Black - White) wire?

Tank you all, i am goinig to check for the grounds,
  10. GILDIA posted a post in a topic in Electrical
I check for the connection and the cable are connected the Gw an BW I run it with and without this connection but i don't get any spark,

Thank you, how do i wire the BR to the coil?
  12. GILDIA posted a post in a topic in Electrical
Thank you again for the quick response, Regarding the BR here is what i did, perhaps is wrong: I just put togheter the BW cable with the GW cable from the ignition switch

Hi, i just measure for continuity with the next result ACC Continuity between: WR-LR ON Continuity between: WR-BW-LR START: Continuity between: WR-GW-BY-BW

Thank you EScanlon, i check the coil wire and is properly seated at both ends, i am going to check the continuity as su said, one cuestion, i do not have the acc's relay conected will this affect the starting?

Hi, does anybody if a 72 240z hava an Electric fuel pump?

I conected the BR The BW (Black white) wire that comes from the IG switch and into the fuse box to the GW (Green-white) that goes to the tachometer

I am using the pertronix with a 3 ohm coil, that is why i am not listing the BR

Hi, i Just try my new harness and unfortunatly it didn't work, i discovered that i'm not getting any spark from the coil, this i what i have build and connected so far: IGNITION SWITCH 1.- from the IG switch to the starter (BY black-yellow) 2.- From the IG switch to the fuse box (BW black-white) 3.- from the IG switch to the Ammeter, to fuse box (WR white-red) 4.- from the IG switch to the fuse box (LR blue-red) 5.- from the IG switch to the tachometer (GW green-white) COIL: 1.- from the + coil to the tachometer(BW black white) 2.- from the - coil to the distributor Note: the coil make a loop from the BW with the ignition switch GW ALTERNATOR: 1.- From the Alternator to the fuse box (WR white-red) 2.- From the Alternator to the Ammeter (WR white-red) 3.- From the Alternator to the Ignition switch (WR white-red) Note the alternator goes to the IG switch in point 3 VOL. REGULATOR: 1.- From the Vol. regulator to the Alternator (Y Yellow) 2.- From the Vol. regulator to the Alternator (WB white-black) 3.- From the Vol. regulator to ground (B black) 4.- From the Vol. regulator to the Starter and into the ammeter and fuse box (W white) I am telling you as much as i can and i am writting the original color (I have diferet colors since i'm making the harness) I dicovered i had no spark from the coil to the alternator paceng the cable that goes from the coil to the alternator to ground and i was expecting a spark but nothing happened, the i place the coil directly from the battery and still the same i measure with a volt meter and i read read 8.8 volts between the coil terminals The battery was fully charge any ideas what to check next? i will appreciate any help thank you all --------------------------------- 72 240z Mexico City
