1972 240Z with fresh rebuilt engine, new distributor, cap, rotor, etc.... Car was driving absolutley fine, until it just died at an intersection. Gas tank is full, battery is new, starter cranks freely, carbs are filling the air with the smell of gas as I try to start the car. My guess is no spark, when i hold the lead wire from the coil to a ground, I dont see a spark. I replaced the coil, and condensor on the distributor with no luck! I just purchased a new ballast resistor for the ingnition coil, and spark plug wires for the hell of it... however the car is like 50 miles away so I want to make sure I cover all the bases before I drive out to fix it, any advice?? what to look for? Also a wiring diagram for the coil to distributor would be excellent, just in case something was hooked up backwards, or became loose, and I mixed them up. One more thing! The resistor on the gound for the coil, which is just for the radio so there is no noise, I was told I could just cut that off and ground it solid, I have no radio. Thanks Dave.
