  1. Congrats Kent, Does this mean you'll be getting a pay rise ?, $00.00 before taking on moderator duties, $00.00 after :-) Nigel
  2. Aren't they shorter ( MR30 ) ?
  3. Hi, I was trolling yahoo japan, and came across this http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w67918502 if my understanding of the exchange rate is correct, it's about $2K maybe we need to setup a exchange program where we swap our lens for JDM one. Nigel
  4. To be honest, I have been a bit slack and have not done anymore besides cutting up a test lens and seeing how I can make it work, I think the OEM lens is a different shape at the base, which would be hard to reproduce with out one. I know what I have will work with a 4 door rear tail light panel, but with a 2 door ( the one with the larger outer surround ) need to be spaced to fit. Nigel
  5. Like this, I can't find my other one.. Nigel
  6. They are available on ebay , http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-5-SPEED-WOOD-SHIFT-KNOB-1200-240Z-510-240K-120Y-/370548062214?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564662b806 I saw the price, and said to myself "what a joke" Nigel
  7. Must be worth $2+ K now.. :-)
  8. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this. looks like I'm a little slow spotting this one..
  9. I don't know, but my other 2 (1977) have a larger brake booster again.
  10. Hi, Another beautiful day, so good weather to finish my brake upgrade. Originally I left the 3/4 Master cylinder on, Brake worked fine, soft pedal, but a lot of travel, probably 3/4 way to the floor, So I went to put a 7/8 master cylinder on, of course this would not fit the brake booster, the 4 bolts have a different spacing. So I compared this to my part part '73 four door, different brake booster ( my 4 door was a little larger than what's on the 2 door), So I swap this out from the 4 door, fitted the 7/8 master cylinder, brakes work really good, pedal still soft, but only travels about a inch or so, So, can someone tell me , which is the original brake booster for a '73 model, from these pictures ? Not sure if it matters, but the 4 door has the 250mm rotors, and the 2 door has the 270 mm rotors Nigel

  12. I did a little more last night, made my first flare ( brake line flare ), what a mess that was, so off to youtube to see how it was done, now I'm a expert.
  13. Hi, I've been wanting to do this for ages , I special ordered these blank rotors from DBA and they have been sitting in my spare room for a few years now. and now I have some time, the weathers getting nice ( no shed to work in though ), and I found a small engineering firm, the spacers between the hub and rotors, the enlargement of the center hole for the rotor, and the caliper spacers, all came to $50, not to bad I thought. Nigel
  14. Thanks for this, I will need to look at my setup to where the difference are, but it looks like the outer lens sits lower in the housing Nigel
  15. Bump, can someone with original (JDM assembly) have a look , please ..
  16. We are here. Fender Mirrors : Aus delivered 240K did not have fender mirrors, afaik Rear and front bumpers : Any one in there right mind, will not sell 'good' bumpers, since they hard to get. 20. Hi, If some one has a original (JDM assembly), could they have a look at the out lens please, and see if it has this 'step' ( see picture ), if not, what size is the 'step' in the outer chrome ring, I'm trying to figure out if the lens is different, or the chrome ring is different than the Aus 240K if you have a nice clear picture, that would help as well. Nigel
  21. Hi, I'll make a change in the outer lens mold, and make 1 set, and see how they come out, (it may take a month) I'm not sure on how much I should ask for a 'set', but I need to figure out what they cost me in time a martial. but I have seen originals go for, mid $600 Nigel
  22. Finished..... I found that the mold of the outer tail light I took, was missing a 'step', I did not find this till I tried to fit the outer 'chrome ring'. When I compared this to the original lens, I saw the small difference, I had to pack spacers to the mounting point of the chrome ring, about 3-4 mm worth, from the outside you would not notice it. I'll have to talk to my brother and put my original hand made lens in his lathe and cut a 'step', and make another mold of it. but, other than that, I'm very happy Nigel
  23. Check the chrome strip going from one side around the back to the other side, never seen that before
  24. A little more progress
  25. ... :-)
