Color code decal

Featured Replies

I just purchase a color code decal for my 1970 Z. does anyone know the location of the decal in the engine bay and how did they fill out the code. Did they just write it in with a marker or was it stamped like a VIN plate?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark:

On my 1972 240Z, when standing in front of the car and looking at the engine compartment, the sticker is just to the LEFT of the radiator. It was stamped (like with a rubber stamp & ink) with the paint code number.

Carl

PS I don't remember for sure whether the numbers were readable from this view ( I *think* they were) or were upside down from this view.

Are you saying it is next to the radiator or on the firewall?

It goes on top of the radiator support. Right (starboard) side.

BTW MikeW is that a chain around your water pump pulley?

Edit: You position the sticker facing back. Like you are reading it from the engine bay. By the way where did you get the sticker from?

Nope, it's just a regular belt that happens to have rounded ridges on the outside; I'm not sure why.

Here's on place to buy stickers and decals:
