Posted July 27, 20159 yr comment_474604 I need a new door jamb switch for the passenger door on my '78, because the pin is pushed in get in and I can't get it out. I think I can get one from the APS, but the website has several with two wires, but different terminals. All I need to know is what kind of terminals are on the wires; two bullet, or two blade terminals? BTW- Does NAPA have them?thxZ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/51965-passenger-door-switch-1978/ Share on other sites
August 23, 20168 yr Author comment_501619 I'd still like to replace this switch, if anyone has done it, and I'd like some tips. It seems the switch doesn't come out with the wires, or the wires are caught on something, so the dash has to be removed to replace the switch. August 23, 20168 yr comment_501624 Maybe pull the wires far enough out then tying them securely with something, like wrapping string (or something grippy like sinew) around them, then cutting off the wires and soldering the new wires to the old ones? I realize this might not be easy due to working with short wires plus if a short to ground develops later it would be hard to find (use heat shrink?). I sort of like to stick to originality when I can even in hidden areas. Maybe one side is ground too so polarity has to be observed. I think my 240 passenger door switch wires came out from behind the passenger kick panel. I was able to use that to advantage when getting my 240 door switches to work, Some rambling ideas here.
