Hub Assembly 71 240z

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I purchased a 71 z prod date 03/71. It sat in a field for a few years and there is a lot to do. I got it running fairly well, considering her age. I've replaced the clutch slave to get her to shift ok. Now, I'm working on the brake system. I'm in the process of putting the front hub assemblies back on with new wheel bearings/new rotors/new calipers/new hoses and hard lines and I failed to keep track of which original hub was driver side and which was passenger side. Does it matter? I've seen a couple of references saying they are different. If so, how can I tell?

Thanks for all the great information on this forum.

There's no difference and as long as you replaced the bearing races in the hub when you replaced your wheel bearings you'll be fine.

I will add a question to this. How can I tell if the hub is good? And btw, zupreder, it isn't an assembly. I sure wish it was.
