S30 battery boiling over, need reg jumper

Pa. Three are no cabs, only buses, and I have been taking them miles to and from work and I know thus isn't that hard i'm either missing something or

OK. So. I'm not as dumb so was beginning to think I was. fricken Napa sucks a big fat one. The new alt was bad. Out put voltage was 17 volts. I erupted it right the first time. A week later and allot of bus rides, have to order a new alternator from the main land for next week. 79 240zx it is. Thanks so much guys,

I would also go for the regolator eliminator plug, saves a bunch of work and headachs, like frying the diods in a new alt that you are buying from over 1000 miles away. Call me crazy, but I think it would be worth every penny.

If they don't jump a wire to sense the alternator will put out 17 volts as its trying to put out all it can because it has nothing to gauge its output by. Newer alternators need to sense voltage from a battery to operate properly and many shops don't know how to test much other than a 10si chevy alt. Even with the proper adapter plugs on their test benches they fail miserably. Be weary. I'm curious to see how this plays out. Good luck. You have my number if you get stuck too bad, I can walk you through bypassing all car harness aspects for charging to get you going.
