What is this part?

My motor recently sprung a good oil leak. Wondering what are common places for this motor to leak in front just over sway bar. I don't recognize this part on attached image, which is where oil looks like coming from. May just be coming from higher up motor & dripping down.

That is your oil pump. If its leaking you should put some new gaskets in it.

Be sure to check the position of the distributor rotor before and after you refit the oil pump if your removing it.
