March 17, 201015 yr comment_312748 They'll fit. They are similar to the stock dished pistons and yeild the same compression ratio. From what I understand they're just a little stronger than the dished pistons. March 17, 201015 yr comment_312761 What is great about Nissans and Datsuns is that they are so interchangeable. I am new to the classic Z scene but not new to Nissan. Most calipers that I know of will bolt right up to other applications. Z32 calipers for exmaple (4 piston front calipers) are great upgrades for most platforms. (example: I have 1990 N/A Z32 calipers 26mm on my 2002 B15, they bolted right up). I know for a fact that the Z32 calipers will bolt up to Altims, Maximas, S13s and S14s, most Sentras, etc... Only thing that needs changing or altering are the brake lines and rotors for the most part.I understand you are talking about 83zx calipers, but judging from personal experience with Nissan caliper swapping, you should have no problems. They should bolt right up, and should even be able to utilize the same brake lines. As long as the rotors from the 76 are the same size as the 83, you should have no problems. I just noticed that myself. I saw "zx piston" and just thought it was in reference to a brake caliper piston for some reason (Maybe because I have done so much damn research on them). Stupid work had me pre-occupied.As far as an piston goes, they should fit no problem. Again like I said, Datsuns/Nissans are very interchangeable friendly. Especially when it comes to internals on same series engines. I am not too familiar with the L series but as far as the QRs and VQs go, they love swapping internals. The QR25DEs from the B16 (2007-present) spec-Vs have beefier internals then the B15s (02-06) so it has become a common swap. I have even seen QRs and SRs swapping internals. I see no real reason why it shouldn't work. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35077-will-zx-pistons-work-in-z/#findComment-312773 Share on other sites
