17" rims too big for a Stock 240Z? (pic's inside)

After doing a lot of research i have decided not to use the 5 lug adapters on my car as it would put unnecessary stress on my wheel bearings.

As opposed to necessary stress?

FYI... going to a wider wheel and tire combination put more stress on the wheel bearings then offsetting the wheel and tire combo out 1/2." Lateral Gs and all that.

If there a difference between rims for Front wheel drive and rear wheel drive car?
Big offset difference. Using FWD wheels will still require thick spacers, about the same thickness as the offset of the wheel. For most large diameter FWD wheels, that will be 35-50mm spacers. About the same thickness as the 5 lug adapters.
