Tim 76' 280Z Posted April 29, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 29, 2009 I was thinking of restoring mine but then I got my 75 parts car and it has an early steering wheel in it which is way easier to restore. I dont know what you whould do about the padding on our stock wheels?!?
saridout Posted April 29, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 29, 2009 tell me this: was there a big spring between your horn pad and the contactor ring? i'm thinking that the reason my horn pad is so jiggly is because it's missing a spring to hold it taught away from the wheel. Z Excellence Posted April 29, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2009 American stitches did a great job on my 76 steering wheel. I posted some pictures a few years ago. It was showroom quality. They kept it about 2 weeks.
darom Posted May 4, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 4, 2009 saridout, yes - there is a spring. The horn button should fit nice and firm. I had to go to the junk yard to find that spring.Regards!Den
