looks like the original owner modified this wire. it was bundled together that all the wires that go to the alt.

from looking at the FSM i thinks its just a ground. but why the heck does it split into two wires?? so should i just ground it onto the chassis?

What color is the wire BEFORE the butt connector?

What year is the Z?

Is there a wire on the Oil pressure switch on the block? Behind your hand.

its a 78 280z. the swtich is plugged. ill have to pull th tap back ill have to do that later

its black wire. and he connected a red wire to it

anyone? according to the fsm there shouldnt be two black wires comming out of this harness to the alternator. i already have the black wire and the white/red connected. i cant seem to figure out where this second black wire goes.

Dig deeper and find out what gauge the wire is, this will help in determining where it goes and what it does.

This is for a 75 but most Alternator wiring is the same.
