im trying to get this 280 zx to run well its a 81 2+2

the symptoms are.

the car starts up preatty rough

and it doesnt rev higher then 3000 everytime i do it just wants to die

what can i do to fix this problem?

First thing I would do is to check all the connectors, making sure they are clear of corrosion and making good contact. Also, have you done a tune up? Give some details on the car. Did you just buy it? Been sitting long?

well the car was sitting but when i drove it, it was fine drove home perfectly fine...then it stated to run bad i did the tune up and changed the fuel filter and still runs bad...i checked all the fuel injectors connectors and everything seemed to be plugged in well.can it be an air to fuel problem?

Check the tps sensor. In fact check all the sensors just to be on the safe side.

pull the access panel under the hatch carpet and pad, check your sender/fuel tank....a sitting car gets gas issues from sitting.

hmm tps sensor..where is it located i dont usually work with fuel injection. and would it need a calibration and how?
