I found a 1974 260Z on craigslist the other day that I am interested in buying(link here http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/805107279.html). I have worked on cars from the 60s-70s before so I am pretty comfortable with them. I just wanted to know the main problem areas I should be looking for, and the right questions I should ask the seller. Thanks in advance.

Rust, rust, rust, rust, rust....that's what you should be looking for.

Look under the battery at the tray and the front frame rail. Also the floorpans, dogleg panels, floorboards (especially on the passenger side), rear frame rails, and the panel under the rear hatch.

Looks like a nice little car from the photo. Let us know what you find.
