Radio

Featured Replies

The radio doesn't work in my 83 280zx, does any one know if they make an aftermarket dash kit , or something?

I have a 79 ZX and the guy i bought it from found a mounting kit for a single din. Best I can say is find an audio shop and see if they can make something custom for you. they should be able to do something that looks good and fits correctly.

The aftermarket mounting kit is just a flat ABS panel to fit the radio pod and cover the extra space-trim a piece of cardboard as a template and cut one out of plywood, plastic, or sheet metal(brushed aluminum would keep a large part of the stock look).

my radio does not work really good, so i'm gonna install a new one in the glove box, so i keep the original and have a really good system...

do a google search om Retro sounds. They make one you won't need to cut your dash for.

I've seen what I believe are some dash kits with face places for the 280ZX on ebay. Do a search for 280zx radio and they should come up.

Hope this helps!
