New noise today..should I stop driving??

I noticed today that there is a "growl" or low "grrrrrrrr" not a "whine" coming from the rearend of the car ONLY when I'm coasting....You give it any gas at all and the noise stops, but then as soon as you come off the gas and coast there's that noise again.

What in the world could this be??? What should I look for and would you drive the car anymore......:ermm:

are you sure its from the rear end? it sounds like you need a new release bearing.

Short of pulling the rear.drop the oil and fill it with 140 weight gear lube.Never telling what the PO put in there.
