Door squeaks like crazy

Featured Replies

For a long time now my passnger side door has been really bad at squeaking when I drive. Its not just when I'm going over a bump, it squeaks just about constantly when I drive. If I reach over and pull on the door, i can make it go away for the most part, but its not exactly practical to drive sprawled across the passenger seat holding the door closed. Is there something I can tighten or adjust to make this stop? The door doesn't feel loose or close unevenly. If anyone has suggestions I would appriciate it. This squeaking really makes it unpleasent to drive the car.

There's a plastic bushing on the round part of the door striker. In many cases, they're worn off. I don't think they can be replaced. I don't know of a good solution for this other than replacing the door striker itself. I've seen people wrap tape around it but that doesn't last long.

The part in the shaded area:

Ahhhhh, I never really looked at that thing. I'll have to check it out. Perhaps I can steal the one off the parts car I located sometime soon if that's the problem. I'll try tape and see if it works as a temporary fix. Thanks for the suggestion.
