Ok - blew out all the lines, car ran great in the 6 mile test run. I think it is fuel.

One more thought..

Just remembered taking a mech pump apart once and found that the valves were jammed with a few flecks of crud. Replaced the pump after blowing out the lines and no problems. No probs until the return orifice got clogged by said crap.
