Thanks to Arne and others, I have determined that my car was originally an automatic. One of the previous owners swapped in a 5/71 engine with an "A" series 4-speed transmission.

I got my hands on a low mileage L26 4-speed (purposely, I do not want a 5-speed). The transmission comes with the clutch fork and throw-out collar.

Now, here is my question. Can I simply swap the clutch fork and throw out collar from the "A" series tranny into the L26 4-speed, since the collar matches the pressure plate.

If I decide to switch to a self-adjusting slave cylinder, can I match up the throw-out collar with the L26 clutch fork?

See you on the road.
