Caleb,

Congrats on the new ride. My eldest daughter, who's 16 has a 1995, white 2-door, manual, Corolla and she loves it!!! It's great on gas and VERY dependable, which makes me happy!

Now get to work on that 260Z LOL

Can't go wrong with a Corolla. I helped my Mom buy a similar model several years ago and it's been great. Only problem we've had is getting her to check the air in her tires and get them rotated regularly. :) I'm mostly a Toyota man myself but had to make an exception for the 240Z. :D

I've been using a 97 Geo Prizm recently and it is almost exaclty the same thing as the corolla. Same parts, but slightly different look. It is a wonder on gas, but it is probably the cheapest feeling car i have ever driven. Its got some rattles inside which get kinda irritating and the highway driving is pretty loud, but its worth it for how much less it costs to use.

Caleb,

The Corolla will give you years of trouble free usage, provided you take care of the basics (oil, radiator, etc.). They are good, safe vehicles, just be sure to lock it up, Corollas are usually near the top of the stolen car list, but that changes yearly.

Just remember that ALL the money you will save by having such a sensible vehicle MUST go to the Z, lest she become VERY jealous.
