July 9, 200222 yr comment_10218 Sounds like a fuel pump, maybe getting weak. You'll need a fuel pressure guage to check it. Unless someone knows a quick and dirty way..... July 9, 200222 yr comment_10220 1st I would put in A new fuel filter. if that didnt help see if there is any psi from the pump. Z's are known for junk in the gas tanks. rust and so on. Thats what it sounds like being it runs till you give it gas. Junk from the tank. August 7, 200222 yr Author comment_12224 Thanks, to all who gave me advice on the car. I dropped the tank an cleaned it. The tank was full of rust when i looked at the bottom of the bucket it looked like mud. Since the tank was down I put new fuel hoses. I also checked the Air Flow Meter and it was shorting out. Know it starts and doesn't die out. Thanks for all the help. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2203-help/#findComment-12224 Share on other sites
