Tree Sap Removal

Featured Replies

Hey guys, anybody have success in removing tree sap without damaging the paint?

Depends on how long it's been on there, but I've had some success with WD-40 of all things.

FWIW,

Nate

What type of paint is it? Does it have a clear coat?

I'd suggest 2000 grit wet/dry paper with plenty of water. If that doesn't work then the paint is already damaged by whatever you're trying to remove.

Try some detailing clay and soapy water. It's available at most parts stores and auto paint stores.

Good luck with your car.

What we use at work to remove tree sap, minimal water spot is just a high pressure washer with 280 degrees heat to remove it. But move in a fast pace especially if your paint is old. That should take care of the problem cause that is what I do everyday.
