Well Cabiness is back and the SCCA and PCA will start holding events there. While i haven't run on this course i hear its a BLAST.

September 9th is the first PCA event out there.

The September autocross with the SCCA may still be held in aviator field, i'm not sure.

Check out this Vid of the course...it takes a while to load..

Check this link for more info..

also the autocross event info can be found on

http://www.STBRSCCA.com

Saturday is practice with unlimited runs at the autocross, and sunday is 6 timed runs....LOTS of fun and seat time. And seat time is the most important benefit.

back in 1991 i was stationed at corpus christi naval air station i used to 'frequent' cabiness. as an aviator i was privy to flight schedules and used that info to head to cabiness field when i had the chance and needed to 'tune my z'. i'd drive up to the gate, get a quick salute from the guard and inform them i was checking out the runways. they'd usually smile, say 'yes sir' and wave me through. i'd make my own course using the taxiways and both the runways [they form an X for those who haven't been there]. it was an absolute blast and i had it all to my self. when i'd leave, the usual question was 'how'd they check out' or 'have a good time?'.
