Original 240Z Wood Steering Wheel

Featured Replies

Does any one know if it is possible to find an original 240Z wood steering wheel, either new, used, or does any one make a replica of the original for sale?

Thanks, Joe

Pretty easy to find used - and pretty easy to refinish them to as new condition. They are actually a composite wood fiber and fiberglass material - so you just sand them down lightly and refinish with varnish... Members here have documented the process...

If someone here doesn't offer to sell you one - check E-Bay there are usually a few there.

Also, early 240Zs (built through sometime in Jan. 71) had wheels indents in the spokes instead of holes. From then on, all 240Zs had holes in the spokes.

I may have a spare later one (with holes) in a week or two.

As Carl mentioned, they are not that difficult to restore, I just cleaned mine up a few weeks ago.

My mechanic was able to fairly easy find a 240Z steering wheel, but can't seem to locate the plastic center horn cover thingie. He says that's very hard to find in any kind of good condition. Is there a secret to finding that part?

I've got a couple of steering wheels and the center caps.

PM me and we'll talk.
