I was thinking about making this badge in a black plate with teh letters and numbers clear so i can run EL cable behind it. Has anyone done this. I know how i woudl do it, just wondering if anyone else has done anythign similar to their cars?

and, NO not led's...led's suck.

Jason, don't get me wrong, and Tomo should have been a little easer on you, but you won't get much enthusiasm from this site for that sort of thing. Maybe a little more description would help because when you mentioned EL cable, I did envision led lights and Hondas and Acuras that I've seen going down the road all lit up.

I think it would look cool - very different and probably more suited to a Z31 - but cool nonetheless. I think the hardest part would be cutting out the letters. It'd have to be done very well so that it doesn't look tacky.

Do you have access to a CNC Milling machine? That would probably be the best way, if you've got access to < 2mm drill bits.
