Side Mirror Plug

Featured Replies

I know some of you have taken off your side mirrors in order to put on the JDM mirrors, I was wondering how you plugged the holes that were left when you took it off?

Here is my answer,

Take a little steel washer, add about a pinch of MIG wire, and an appropriate electric current! ! give the patch a few smacks with a hammer and a dolly and a brush of POR15, Walla~!

No more hole, and a solid steel, rust-proof, perminent repair!

You could use and follow the wisdom of Kats. Make a label the right size, have someone who was a prominent part of "Z history" sign it, and cover the hole with it! His answer is most appropriate in the few minutes before the car is to shown!ROFL Though obviously not the way he does things in the Norm!

I have a black metal plate that covers mine.

not the most elegent solution, but it works.

you can sort of see it in this picture:

1975Yellow, those mirrors on your car do they have any brand name marked on them?

Steve

First I don't think I would buy them again.

I got them off ebay, and they are very flimsy.

the body is black plastic.

I will look and see if there is a name on them anywhere however.

Bryan

They still look the part

Very similar to a set I have off a series 1 240Z but they are metal and I think had Napolean stamped on them?

I need to get some of those, but I want some of them to not be flimsy! Lemme know if there is somewhere that I cang et some I guess "good" ones.

The 'mooneyes' site in japan used to have them with the long bases in chrome.

even with the international shipping they are cheaper then the nissan part by a lot. But I didn't seem them when I looked at there site last. But there site is really terrible so they may still be there...

you can get the ones with the short bases in chrome from MSA or gtclassics.com
