CarTech 4bbl

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking at a 73 240z that has a cartech manifold and cast aluminum air breather with a 4 barrel holley carb. Does anybody have any information on this set-up?

I don't know but consider changing your avitar because it does slow things down for us dial-up users. Not to mention that it also diverts my focus from the topic!:classic:

I have a 73 with an L28 engine. The PO pulled off the EFI because of major problems and installed a MSA intake with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. The set up performs well, gives me reasonable fuel economy and is easy to maintain and tune.

That said, I've seen other guys on the list have major problems with 4 barrel conversions and others express concern about the different lengths of the manifold intakes causing different fuel mixtures in the middle versus outer cylinders.

Performance and history wise, a well tuned set of round top SUs is hard to beat. I have a set with intake manifold waiting in the wings, but for me the restoration process in the face of a nice running current system is hard to justify.

BILL D.
