As far as body goes, what is different about the 240z, 260z, and the 280z??

The bumpers and lights are different. The newer the car is the more it waighs. Like the 260 wighs a little more then the 240s but the 280 waighs a bit more then the 260.

The lower front valence is different to accomodate the differences in the bumpers, threir mounts, and combination (turn signal/marker) lights, the emblems are different, late 280Z have a vented hood, the doors are different because of lock changes mandated by safety standards, the door glas is the same, but the mounting frames are different through the model years.

The headlight scoops are all the same shape, but they were made of composit materials some years and steel in others.

The rear quarters panels have a flat floor sealing them in the early cars, in the later cars, the same area is sealed all the wat down. The earliest hatches had vents below the glass, and no vents above and behind the quarter-windows. The grills are different, the side mirrors are different.

i didnt use the search function because i didnt feel like reading through 100's of posts to get something that was so easily answered. if someone has asked this before and someone doesnt want to answer because its been asked before, then dont bother reading or responding. There are people who here who will asnwer this simple question such as the people above.

Reow!! That was just the point I was trying to make... if the answers given are sufficient, then all is dandy. I was just letting you know there are a lot of other, more minor differences. If you wanted to know about these, then I was pointing out the usefulness of the search engine. Just trying to help! Perhaps I wasn't clear as to what I meant.
