The 24th Annual Z Car Club Association International Convention will be held on Z Island (Formerly known as Hutchinson Island) The week of July 18-23rd, 2011. We'll bed down out at the world renound Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa, with the treasure being at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. To run around in circles we will have an Indy lights track so close your engine won't have a chance to warm up before you get there-even in the Savannah heat!
Bedding down in these five star digs won't cost you their typical mid July room rate of $309 a night, but $129 a night for a single room(limited availability) or $139 a night for a double. If you like beaning a dimpled ball with a club-the PGA championship Troon-managed golf course designed by Bob Cupp and Sam Snead is right here.
Savannah's history and charm is a free ferry ride across the river, with arrivals and departures every 15–20 minutes from 7:00 AM until 12:00 AM (subject to weather and river traffic conditions)... You can take in all that the first capitol of Georgia, one of the original thirteen colony's, Americas most haunted city, and the Hostess city of the South the has to offer, from one of the largest historic districts in the United States, to the back drops for more than 100 movies like The Gift, Forest Gump, The Generals Daughter, the Legend of Bagger Vance, Forces of Nature, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Glory, Roots, Swamp Thing, and most recently The Last Song. We even have The Lady and Sons Restaurant opened by our own Food Network Star, Paula Dean-bet you didn't know she had a 350Z ya'll!
We have lots of Down home events in the works to give you the full flavor of Southern Hospitality, from Truly Authentic Southern Comfort food from one of the original Colonies to PGA Championship golf! This is the year to experience Z Island!
The Coastal Z Club of Savannah convention team is working out all of the details, and will post them here first, so be sure to check back with us!
Registration will be held on Zcon.org and should start around early December! Plan early, stay late!
