Hi All, Had a service provider preform a rear disc brake conversion on a 73 240Z. Basically the stage one kit from MSA. Maxima calipers with 280z rotors. Before the car went into the shop the suspension was upgraded with new springs and struts. eibach springs 1" lower then stock. When the car was delivered from the service provider, began to experience a clunking in the rear of the car (drivers side first, then pass). Upon inspection for loose gland nut / strut or suspension issues, discovered (when the car was on the ground and the suspension was fully loaded) the SS hard brake line mount (L bracket mounted on the sub frame) is making contact with the emergency brake line mount on the Maxima caliper. See photos attached. This is the same on both sides very tight space to coexist with an active suspension. The SS hard line mount (on frame) is sitting slightly above the emergency brake line bracket at idle. Upon compression clunk, clunk, as it passes below and return to idle. Please respond if you've preformed this specific rear brake conversion. Not only is this annoying but very dangerous as the flex brake line is also making contact and could be pinched/cut. Do you have to re-position the frame mount slightly forward? Are there other emergency brake line brackets? or other to gain clearance necessary so the mounts can pass each other without contact. . Thank you.
  2. Hi everyone, I've read that the tokico rear illumina struts are the same thing as the front, but just have a short piece of tubing at the bottom that lengthens them just a bit. To anyone who's installed some tokico struts and dealt with the spacer- what is the proper length of the spacer so that the struts sit at the proper height? I'm picked up two pairs of front struts and am planning on just making the small spacer myself. Has anyone done that? I'm wondering what size tubing to buy and the proper length to cut it. If anyone has any advice, please let me know.
  3. Replacing my rear transmission seal (it's a five speed-model FS5W71B. Seal is from Motorsport Seal Part Number 32136-U0100). Old seal disintegrated upon removal. Wondering if the inner metal ring (or band) should be removed as well (possible this is part of the old seal)? (see red arrow in pic around 2 0'clock). Thanks you!

Hey guys, name's Dylan, I got a 78 280z 2+2 for christmas, just thought I'd say hey! also, I've been trying to find out what rear diff is in my car? I'm having issues ha yes I know there are forums galore on this, but I wonder because it says that 280s with manuals had the r200 with like 3.54s or something like that... but nothing is said about the 2+2 and honestly, I think the gearing would be lower because at 75 I'm revving on the top side of 3500. sorry if this is a nuisance, but I am just curious.
