Hey guys. I have a rather urgent question: TO make the car road-legal, I have to change the handbreak cable on my 1972 Datsun 240Z, but i´m not sure, which part to go with. I could have one from nearby, which comes out of a 260 2+2 or go with something like this: Datsun Fairlady Z 240Z 260z 280z 2SEAT Hand Brake 2 Cables New | eBay My question is: Are they all the same in the 240´s to the 280´s or are there major differences. Can even the 2+2-versions be used, or are they way longer then the ones in the 2-seater? Maybe its just a detail changed, but it seems to me, that there are numerous different Part-No. This does not necessarilly mean, that the part is really different.......Thats why im asking you guys. Or does anybody have a source for my part, which doesnt ask 240 bucks for just one cable? Thanks guys, my adventure over here in germany with the Datsun just beginns...... Best regards, bergfexrv

I am trying to install a choke cable on my 73 because it didn't have one installed when I bought it. I took the cable off of my 71 and thought I would install it on the 73. Then realizing the hole that the cable goes through on the 71 isn't there on my 73. Sooo..... My question is: A) Is the 71 and 73 cables different Do I have to cut a hole in the 73 to make it work. (Doesn't sound right) C) The picture with the arrow is the choke cable hole (below the CMC) and I need to find one that will work for my 73. Because it would need to be longer because the position of the hole. :stupid: I hope this makes sense and any help would be appreciated as always.
