Why aren't YOU going to ZCON 2008?
One word: Cleveland. Just kidding. I am the same as Arne: Too far to travel. I will attend one once it returns to the left coast again.

HLS30-00016 or Wick Humble's car for $15K?
Can't we all just get along? I come to this site to share love of and knowledge about Z cars. I don't think personally attacking a fellow posters adds anything to this site. I don't wish to insult anyone in particluar. I think adding people to the ignore list is better than attacking them.

How to remove the AMP/Fuel gauge from dashboard?
The problem is shared by my car as well, I know the fix it just sucks doing it. The light bulb socket is not seated properly in the back of the guage. Its ground is the socket touching the back of the guage. If the bulb slips out back a bit then the light does not have its ground. The sockets wear out for some reason and do not stay in I have two like that. I had my heater bezel off and got to them fine but now it back on and it sucks reaching them throw the glove box(which is out right now). I was thinking of ways to keep them in place. I don't want to use an adhesive of course.

Stripping down a 71Z
I am in the middle of huge project for my friend. We have a nice 71 that my friend wants raced out. The L24 is going to be replaced with a 3.1 motor is already being machined. The interior will only get door panels and the dash. Everything else is gone, no heater, center console, diamond material carpet etc... We have brand new door handles, lock set, rubber, door mechanisms, new euro taillights, headlights, headlight buckets, brake booster...etc... So by now you are saying "what's is the point?" Here it is: send me a private message with your parts needs and I will see if I can fill it. In the next two weeks the car will be totally stripped and sent for paint so get the order in. Thanks in advance. If you are in San Diego area local pick up would be best.

Looking for a few interior parts....
The autoshift handle is available at the dealer. I got one about a year ago, it cost $74 and I had to wait 2 days for it to come in from the Los Angeles distribution center. It is just like the original except it does not have the chrome on the end. I think it is same as what was used on 510s, 210s etc.

Splash Pan
I had mine powder coated in semi-gloss black back a year ago or so. It still sits on a shelf in the garage....I am just to lazy to find to bolt it in, besides I don't know which bolts to use. I was also considering changing my pan color to a dull silver but after reading posts on here, black is just fine.

Gauging interest in engine bolts
Thanks for looking out, from what I see in your pictures I know you and your Pop are committed to quality on your restos. I was interested in the buy for that reason. I have a complete set of stainless for the entire car but was going to get the set from you for a future project. Again thank you if things change, be sure to let us know if the buy is back on....my plate is WAY too full to take up any more projects. I got a ton of extra stuff I got to sell and can't seem to find the time to list the stuff. Have a great day and keep the great pictures coming.

Does this mean the group buy is off?

Transmission upgrade
I was told about a converstion of an 83 Maxima automatic with overdrive that will work great. Most likely you will need to have custom drive shaft made. The overdrive should help in the gas savings you are looking for. Unlike others I understand sometimes people have "their" reasons for needing to drive an automatic and I respect that. Now try to find an 83 Maxima....I had lined up but had to let it go because I had no where to put it at this time.

Gauging interest in engine bolts
I want one set for sure.... Thanks for this great service and for looking out.

Gauging interest in engine bolts
I am interested, prices and time lines of availability would be helpful. I get a kick out of Reddat.... I always wonder who buys from him. You are a brave man talking on this project. I have items that I want to sell but I just don't want to deal with the hassle that come from the whinners that are out there. I wanted to get into selling remanufactured stuff like ZG over fenders, JDM type front spoiler and Works over fenders...but I just don't want to deal the whinners.... That is the reason for calling you a brave man.

ST Old Part # S-060
Does anyone know if these are correct for S30s. My friend gave me two boxes of them. I plan to unload them but don't know what they are for. He said they are S30 I checked the internet and could not find a matching part number. They are brand new, but old. I already have STs on my Z so I don't need them.

What is the best part of taking your Z out for a spin?
For me it is being able to take my boy Larry Dog for a ride and coming home smelling like fumes....it is great.
-
Why the Z may be the perfect car for the next 10 years
Classic will always be forgiven BUT I believe they will restrict the use of classic automobiles by requiring exempt classics to be registered as such and reducing the times that they are allowed on the road. They could put mileage caps or time caps on their use. I would not be a horrible thing, not a great thing, but workable. You could take it out for club meets, shows and events but not use it as a daily driver. Classic cars are like art, I can not see a society that would require they be destroyed in the name of the environment.

new Z owner from Malaysia..Hi All!!
Dude get a set from Bad Dog, the price is good and the product is excellent. I am sure they can get them to you via DHL or Fedex. I used a set on my Gnose project.
-
I am speechless
So you think it will sell??? I got a spare $17K burning a hole in my pocket. Just kidding, I don't think the guy will get an offer above $2000 for that thing.

ZG nose bonnet hinge...need help. Thanks
I used a set of G-nose hinges originals from Japan, the Bad Dog part is an exact reproduction. I am using a few Bad Dog parts in my build and like the quality and service. I was told that the owner is out of town until the first of June, not sure if this would affect ordering the part. If you got the $275 I highly recommend Bad Dog.
