There used to be another guy named BuDavid on here from Bahrain; he had a real nice Z too but I think he sold it. I have been to Bahrain a few times; I really liked it. Welcome to the board, you find lots of great information when you use the search feature.
  2. There goes the value of my 2 sets of Brembo drums I have been sitting on.

I have a set of 3 14x5s, of course they would be worth more if I had a 4th. If I had a matching set of 4 in the condition of the picture I would offer them at $250.

I saw a nice stainless looking header for sale on Craigslist San Diego for $100.
  5. I meet Peter and his wife Gale at Kit Car show at the Fairplex Pomona outside the Wally Parks Museum. He brought his Daytona kit car with him; he was really great to talk to as was his wife. There was not a huge turnout for the Kit Car show so I am not sure what kind of following he has, I know his shop is out of Henderson or Las Vegas NV. Regardless if he attracts a large crowd or not; the history he has to share is very interesting to listen to.
  6. I have them.

There is a guy in Lemon Grove CA who has a lot of parts for PL520/PL521 trucks and maybe some Patrol parts. His name is Tony. I could get his phone number if you are interested. The parts are from a Datsun parts hoarder who fell into health issues.

I got a 65 L320 pick up, 73 240z's, and 67 Roadster low windshield. I am really interested in parts; I love new in the box parts.
  9. I think Jay has a Japnese source for the front lenses. As for the front valance; are you looking to make it out of fiberglass or metal? I think Les has a source for the fiberglass version. Speaking of Les he would be a great source to ask what parts people are asking for that he cannot supply.

That pick was a blast Tony; I could not believe the great parts Erik and I found there that early December Sunday. I hope Jackie did well with the sale of parts and that her Roadster gets done right for her; she is really a great lady. Anyone looking for quality old stock parts should get a hold of Tony. And thanks to Tony and Jackie the 67 Roadster in my garage is looking really good. It should be getting its stroker dumped in within the next week or so then off Classic Datsun for an awesome red interior. Pictures when done.
  11. We use Lizard Skin; great product. We got 5 quarts of both heat shield and sound; for $360 with the paint gun kit. Easy to apply and paintable. The only down side is that it will not stick to bare metal. I bought it from Tony Corriera of Barry White's Hot Rod Shop. Tony is a southern Cal distributor of Lizard Skin.
  12. Congrats to your son, the car should look good in the Stone Brewery parking lot.

    Interesting stuff.
  14. Keep me informed on the stash sale.
  15. Are parts from the "stash" for sale?
  16. I got a 67 1600 low windshield in the garage that I just happen to have been working on last night. We have a complete and ready stroker motor ready to intall along with using a Z 5sp. Once the motor is in it will go up to Classic Datsun for a brand new red interior. Looking forward to going meeting up with Rich when his is done and taking them out for a run.

Not to steal the thread; just one question: I have a late 73 Jul production car; it has both the electronic pump and the mechanical pump. Was this how they came?

A great way to spark more interest in Group Z would be to run the monthly meeting at Cars and Coffee in Irvine this would be a great way to show of the cars and give members a reason to show up. The club could have a quick meeting in the parking lot and could also start runs from there. I would even consider being a member if the meeting were held early Saturday morning, it would give me another reason to go to Cars and Coffee Irvine.

Thanks for sharing Dennis. This is one good thing to come off the pen of Moonbeam.

I know you like the car stock, but a set of Eibach springs would have set the ride height just right for that wheel and time combo. The Eibach springs do not lower to much, still give a solid ride and close the wheel well gap perfectly. It was best $200 I spent on my 73. I watched this car come together I know you will be very happy with it. Have a safe trip out here to San Diego County.

See my post about Jay: "I sold 3 brand new ones to Esprist a few months back. He might be selling them on his website; http://jdm-car-parts.com/"

“Best Survivor” should be front and center in 2014 and not forgotten about.

Les also now has a JDM style Spook that they call a chin spoiler. That looks really cool on the car; and is a rare find. I believe only Les sells them, I got two from him.
