If you do decide to eBay the car, just be sure to put in lots of good photos, and make sure you have the reserve set for the minimum you need to get out of it. You can start the bidding at $.01 as long as you have the protection of your reserve price.

I'd definately be on the way with some $$$ if I did not already have my Z! If only I had more garage space...

I beleive you can thank Mr. Nader and the US Goverments efforts to keep idiots in the gene pool for this...

Sounds like getting another Z using the parts from your current Z on it as necessary, then selling the remaining parts is a good solution in this case!
  9. Not to put you off a Z, but if your looking for a two seat convertible, you could try an MGB or a Truimph TR6. Both are very easy to work on and quite relaible when they are repaired correctly and maintained properly. A couple of forums that support these cars (like this one does for Z's) are: http://www.mgbexperience.com and http://britishcarforum.com/ Of course, with no A/C, any convertible is also going to be very warm in Houston!

The law was the same when I lived in the UK. But, I've always said that the US lack of a law (and tough enforcement of said law) requiring people to stay in the right lanes unless they are passing is what causes congestion and road rage. Here in Atanta, people merge onto the highway, and head straight for the far left lane and then sit there. At least half the time they are sitting there on their cell phones with no cars in front and a line of cars behind them. Interestingly, I tend to drive in the far right lane, as it has in reality turned into the "fast lane" since all the muppets are parked over in the left hand lane all the time.
  13. Very nice! Looks good with the color of your car.

Orignally I was not sure I would like the yellow on my Z, but, now that I have gotten used to it, I love it :classic: It is painted in plain old standard PPG yellow (see my gallery if you want to see more photos other than my avatar).

Hey! Settle down there. I have an MGB as well as my Z. Both are very nice cars, but, at least in my mind, serve different purposes/markets. Also, most of the MGB people I know have no problems with Z's (or other classic cars) or their owners, and would never make such an idiotic comment.

Of course, it may be that if you had 240Z bumpers, he would not have hit your car in the first place since they would not have been sticking out so far from the car!

Maybe these would work for you: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/240z-260z-280z-DATSUN-ULTIMATE-WHEEL-PACKAGE-w-TIRES_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43957QQitemZ8056468858QQrdZ1 Tell the guy that wants to buy your rims that you'll trade him even-up for these :classic:

Thanks for the info Carl, based on your clarifications I will call Bob and see if Hagerty will work for my 240Z and my MGB :classic: Like others, I drive both my "classic" cars frequently, but I do have the "daily driver" car available so perhaps I will be fine.

If your not really fond of your current wheels, I would suggest you figure out what you want to replace them with, and make sure you charge at least that much to the person who wants to buy your current wheels. That way you get the wheels you really want with no "out-of-pocket" expense.
  20. Excellent!

    Looks great!
  22. Welcome! Are you in Tenessee as well? You should update your profile when you get a chance and add you location. :classic: Sounds like you got a great deal on the car! BTW, I also think you got some cool stuff with it, but I am a bit biased since that is my Yellow 240Z on the lower right cover of the Summer 1997 Z Car Magazine

Does Australia celebrate Easter on Fridays instead of Sundays? I know that your a few hours ahead over there, but I didn't realize you were a couple of days ahead, even with the posting clock acting wacky! ROFL Seriously, Happy Easter! :bunny:
