  1. Hey guys, I got a question about the rear hatch and my paint. When I first bought my 280z it was white and had pretty shitty paint job. One of the things I noticed was that the paint on the rear hatch had crackes everywhere. I figured it was the old paint but sure enough I think I was wrong. After about a year or something like that, I had my car custom painted, I'm sure it was 2001 Viper Yellow, and of course before the paint they sanded and everything. I also had them put on a body kit I bought from zcarparts.com. Well anyways everything's great and all but I just noticed about 2 months ago that the paint on the rear hatch was starting to crack just like it was when it was white. Now, 2 months later, it's close to being like it used to be when it was white and it kinda makes me mad to think that the money went to waste on the hatch. I think it happens because the hatch flexes but I don't really know anything about paint so maybe someone knows...??? How would you fix this problem? Can you put a re-inforcement bar on the inside of the hatch to keep it from flexing or is it just the blazing California sun hammering on my rear hatch??? help......
  2. Well guys, I think I may have solved the problem. Like I said, I went to look for more wires and sure enough I had found one that was hanging quite loose. It was right under the steering wheel and I'll show u guys a pic of it later today. Now, it had nothing to do with the steeing wheel, since it worked stationary, but I noticed that the way the wire was loose, it would only disrupt turning left. Anyways, I fixed that by cutting and re-wiring/re-crimping and then I went out for a drive. I went out to the industrial area here at 130, about 40 mins ago and on my way there it worked fine. Once I got there I did some high-speed S turns and pulled a couple 180's and some donuts left and right and I still had a working sound system. Let's hope it's not tricking me and thanks for the help guys!! I'll post the pic later and if I need any other wiring help I'll just post another thread or reply...thanks again guys...
  3. well I can tell you it's not the turn signal and I sadly can't just make left turns because of city engineering and I'm not blonde. Umm, good point though...it doesn't have the rpoblem when I turn the wheel while stationary and parked. So Ummm I still have no clue someone help me because I can't find anymore wires to fix for now. At least not until I find some more...
  4. Anyone else on here from or near the north-bay?? Just wondering because I wouldn't mind going to a couple meets here and there for fun.
  5. Whats up everyone I'm also new here. I figured this would be a good place for those tech questions. Also it's a great website and really helpful. I'm 19 and I have a 77 280z and I've had it for 3 years. It's a great car with minor problems here and there. Odometer says 76,000 about but I'm sure It's 176,000 because I'm Owner #3 and it's wearing it's third color of paint right now. So far my top-speed has been 145 but I don't think I'll push it any more than that until I fix up my engine more. It's got a slight engine knock but that's it. I'll be looking forward to making my Z better with the help of this website and money of course.
  6. I looked at that website and those seem pretty sweet. How much better does your z run now with the custom fuel rail? Also..how hard was it to put together and get it working right? I'll be sure to look into getting one. If anyone knows anything better or knows any other websites selling cutsom fuel rails just post a reply. Thanks anyways.
