Wow, I did not expect so many replies! Thanks to everyone here, I appreciate it. Firstly, I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago, so this guy is pretty close by. I have been looking for a pretty good example of a '72 Z around the midwest so I can look at it and not have to ship it (which I found out was what my dad ACTUALLY owned -- not a '71 like I said earlier). I checked out the link to the selling car, which would be nice, but it is too far away. I know, it is going to be hard to find a good relatively less-rusty model up here in the midwest, but I can always dream, right? I am in no rush. I also want one with A/C, whether original (which means '72+), or aftermarket. Where is a good place to start looking besides here and eBay? So, basically, if this guy wants to sell, I should look for $2000? I asked him to look under the carpet on the passenger side too. It sounds like a dead end with this one. Actually, if I can get a COUPLE nice Z's for a decent price, hell, I might get myself one too! I drove one about 2 years ago and it was pretty cool, and I am a valet and drive EVERYTHING ! Hello all! First, I want to start off by saying that my dad used to own a green '71 240Z when he was in college around that time, and he talks about how much he loved the car. So I wanted to surprise him, and I have been looking for a pretty good example close by for a decent price. I located one, and want to know if it is something I should go for. I emailed the guy and asked a lot of questions, mainly about rust !
